About the Book
Short Summary: Returning from a research dive off the coast of picturesque Carmel-by-the-Sea, Chris Black receives threats telling him in no uncertain terms to stop diving deep. Book Synopsis
Not all secrets are buried deep . . . enough.
Chris Black has spent two decades searching for answers deep within the world's oceans and is no stranger to the risks of undersea life. Alongside Mac Johnson, his childhood friend and former Navy SEAL, Chris has cheated death above and below the ocean's surface more times than he can count. But nothing has prepared him for the violence he and his team encounter in their own backyard of Carmel-by-the-Sea, violence which will change the team forever. When Black and Johnson, while studying a deep undersea canyon, discover barrels of toxic waste piled on the seafloor, they immediately grasp the danger to the environment. But they are slower to recognize the danger their discovery poses for their friends and families.Review Quotes

About the Author
Dr. James Lindholm dives deep for his inspiration. His novels are based on a foundation of direct, personal experience with the undersea world. He has lived underwater for multiple 10-day missions to the world's only undersea laboratory and has even found himself alone on the seafloor staring into the eyes of a hungry female great white shark. Along with his ocean adventures, Lindholm has drafted text for an executive order for the White House and has briefed members of the House and Senate on issues of marine science and policy. He works as the Chair of the Department of Marine Science at California State University, Monterey Bay. James Lindholm's diverse writing portfolio includes textbooks, peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, and the Chris Black series of action/adventure novels.
