There is a guard on the inside so you would cut too deep or hurt yourself. It has a capture chamber to gather nails that you cut. Overall it’s a good, sturdy little clipper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was actually excited to try these nail tip cutters because I struggled to find some good ones like my 1st pair I purchased back in 2017. These look sturdier than they feel but the blade seems to glide up smoother than my og cutters. It almost feels like less effort is needed to cut through the plastic nails. So it's a good blade. I also like that the tiny instruction paper that comes... let's beginners know at what angle to hold the cutter for the different nail cut you may need. My one complaint is the little clear "nail catcher," is kind of tricky to remove & put back on. I feel like I'm going to break it. It's a minor issue for me because my old one doesn't have that so I don't NEED it, but I thought I'd mention for anyone else.

It is definitely best to do while wearing the nails, but you can pre cut too! The collection of the scraps was super helpful, and I only wish this could be used as effectively for regular nails, as I don’t often wear extensions. Now I have an excuse to!
