Too heavy - falls out or hurts ears

Bought these headphones in a pinch at an airport and quickly regretted my inability to return them. The sound quality is good but the physical earbuds are so big and heavy they don’t stay in my ears. I tried every earbud size in the package and was constantly frustrated. I couldn’t even give them away to friends or family because they also found them too heavy. Additionally the tap touch is nice until you’re someone with long hair that accidentally pauses the song or changes the listening quality every time you tuck your hair behind your ear - a little too touchy.

We’re here to help you with your JBL Tune Buds 2. To achieve the best seal and secure fit, you must create a tight seal within your ear canal. To do this, angle the ear tip slightly downward to make it easier to insert into your ear canal, gently twist the earbud to fit it securely into the shape of your ear, and continue twisting the earbud into your ear canal. With regards to the touch control, you can use the JBL Headphone App to disable this option. For further assistance, you may reach out to our customer support.

Thanks for your feedback. Bluetooth will perform well for up to 30 feet. However, walls, obstacles, and other wireless devices can impede that 30-foot range. If it works well at 10 feet or less, it is likely that there is something interfering with your wireless Bluetooth signal, causing these dropouts. Another possibility is that sometimes a Bluetooth connection can become corrupt. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help isolate he issue. First, forget/unpair the headphones on your device, then perform manual pairing. Next, try to connect the headphones to a different device to see if it fixes the problem. Lastly, reset may fix the issue, much in the way rebooting a computer or phone fixes many problems. It will wipe all previous settings and pairings, so it will be necessary to pair your unit with your devices again. To do this, take out both earbuds from the case. Tap twice on both earbuds and on the third tap hold for 5 seconds before putting it back in the case. If you need more help, please contact us.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago after first buying the partybox 320 and the Xtreme 4. Those were both fantastic sounding so I wanted to try the Tune Buds 2. Although the sound is great, it doesn't go nearly as loud as my Samsung Ear Buds which is leaving me a bit frustrated.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You may also try using the different sizes of ear tips for our JBL Tune Buds 2. Regarding the volume issue with your earbuds, please connect them to your other devices to see if the same issue occurs. If it does, please follow these reset steps: take both earbuds out. Make sure that they are not connected to any Bluetooth. Press either the left or right earbud three (3) times then hold it on the third tap for 5 seconds. Once done, put back both earbuds inside the charging case for 10 seconds while the lid is closed, and connect them again to your device. Please contact us directly for further assistance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm surprised at how much features JBL was able to fit into these buds. It is so light, that I forget I'm wearing them sometimes. The noise cancellation is great as usual. What is also impressive is the ambient-aware more, which intelligently boost nearby ambient noise that you may need to be aware of. In urban areas, this is good for car horns that may be warning of danger, while keeping the loud crowd noise out. It also passes through notifications from stove and Alexa. As usual, the sound quality is top notch. I did not encounter any compromise. Battery is life is great and the charging capacity of the case has been a solid feature for getting out of the door quickly with reliable play time.

I purchased these a few weeks ago, sound quality is ok but they do not sit and stay in the ear easily. Even walking dislodges them. I do not recommend these for active people. I tried all 3 sizes thinking maybe I got the size wrong, no dice. All 3 sizes fell out within 5 mins of walking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try the JBL Tune Buds 2 earbuds because I work from home and frequently join virtual meetings and calls, and my previous earbuds were problematic when using with my meeting app software. Fortunately I got my hands on these JBL Tune Buds 2's, so I could evaluate if they could replace my standard laptop earbuds and have good enough audio quality to use for work calls. The JBL Tune Buds 2's definitely delivered, and has a more classic bluetooth headsets look and feel to it. My personal experience with them was intuitive out of the box — I paired them with my laptop in seconds without even having to open the instruction manual. I expected good audio quality with good bass and decent noise cancellation, and as expected, JBL did not fall short. The sound was clean, clear and crisp - with a deep, discernable bass that was not overbearing. It engulfed me in an immersive audio experience, to the point where I had to take them off to check that others couldn't hear it (they couldn't). I did a few test calls and meetings, and the feedback was positive - my audio came in loud and clear to no one had any problems hearing me. I had noise cancellation support, ambient mode support and mute controls all accessible by touching the earbuds. I'll continue to use these for work as it's convenient and does what I need. One standout feature is the sleek black design and charging case. The design feels sturdy and well-made, and I appreciated the flashing lights used to convey the different states. For me, these earbuds have a professional look to them, making them feel suitable for the workplace. My honest verdict? I'd say between these or the JBL Tune Flex 2's you can't go wrong with either - with the Flex 2's giving slightly more portability for workouts given its smaller bud size and shape.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After several attempts to use these earbuds, changing the tips to attempt to make them fit, I have found they are not made to fit my ears. The sound quality is good, but I was not able to get a good seal with the included tips so ambient noise was intrusive. These would be better if there was a wider selection of sizes for the tips.

Best combination of bass and noise canceling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best wireless earbuds I've had. I haven't really used earbuds much in my past, but after trying these, I'm in love. These fit my somewhat smaller ears perfectly, and include 3 sizes to fit. When i opened these for the first time, they instantly connected to my Galaxy S25 with Android's new device pairing abilities. Any time I use these, they're super quick to connect. They charge super quick and maintain their battery pretty well. I thought the app that goes along with these earbuds wouldn't do much, however it has so many features to change bass, noise canceling, button features, and even install updates. I detail cars at home and sometimes outside of home, and these things are amazing to bring with me and use in a noisy environment, such as when using an air compressor for cleaning, the noise canceling works well. All while having super deep bass and high quality audio. If you do any type of outdoor work or work in a louder environment, these earbuds are amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used them while painting in an industrial setting. The noise canceling was great. My music was clear as a bell even with machines running in the background which totally made my work more enjoyable. Even though I was sweating, the ear buds remained stationary in my ear. The option for having ambient sound to be able to communicate with out taking them out is even more impressive. They have amazing bass response for such little speakers. The treble is on par and maybe a little better then most other brands I have tried. The app has been reliable making connectivity super easy. It has great features which is key to using bluetooth devices. The case is compact enough to carry almost anywhere. It charges them super fast. The battery life is awesome. It lasted for the entire work day. I was stunned to be honest. I have now started wearing them at the house cooking, cleaning, and relaxing because they just work, and improve my music listening experience. Thanks.

JBL NoiseCancelling Tune Bud 2 Cancels Competition

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] JBL has been working hard on perfecting the noise canceling ear buds and it shows. These are the best buds yet. They fit really well, are not overly bulky and provide top tier noise cancelling. Some older models would produce a crunch around high decibels which was really annoying, but the Tune Buds 2 seems to have fixed that entirely! Sound quality is warm, with plenty of low end punch and just the right amount of roundness. Sometimes I will just wear the buds purely for the tranquility that the noise canceling has to offer. Battery lasts all day and gets a charge from its compact little case. Keep it up JBL! This will be a tough one to top!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great sound quality and useful for everyday earbud usage like at work, which makes use of the ambient aware feature pretty well to know what’s going on around me. Very cool tie in to the JBL app and is useful for adjusting the balance of bass in the headphones as I like lots of rap/r&b. Design is convenient and low key, but earbuds can fall out of your ears at the gym or doing moderate physical activity. Don’t love how sensitive the touch controls on the side can be, as they can skip/pause a song without intending to. Overall these headphones have great value for price point, and have great battery life to last all day long, would recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these earbuds to wear to work and while working out etc. I chose these because of their features and small size. They don’t get in the way of my bike helmet but they’re easy to get to when you need to use the tap control features. The JBL Headphones App allows adjustments and personalization for music playback and making phone calls. After I chose the correct size ear tips I had no problem keeping them comfortably in my ears and naturally block out ambient noise. The active noise cancelling works very well too. It will allow music only, or music and outside sounds like voices, or only outside sounds so you don’t have to take them off when you want to talk to someone. The sound is excellent as you’d expect from JBL. Full deep bass, clear mids, and nice crispy treble. Sending and receiving clear stereo phone calls is simple too. Battery life is great. I can use them all through my shift at work with no problem and after a quick boost from the charging case, I can use them all day. Nice work JBL! I highly recommend these earbuds!

Superior Sound, Comfort and Noise Cancellation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As expected with JBL audio products, the sound quality of these Tune Buds 2 is superb — full, clear and well balanced with crisp highs, natural mids and proportional bass at all volume levels. There’s no artificial “hyper” bass like some cheap brands use to fake a big sound at the expense of true sound quality. Even better, you can use the companion JBL Headphones app to create a custom EQ profile that totally suits your listening preference. I was especially impressed by the “Personi-Fi” hearing profile test conducted by the app on setup. It really did a great job of analyzing the weak points in my hearing profile and applying automatic adjustments to compensate. In my case, some of the higher frequencies were re-shaped and emphasized in a way that really enhances the audio quality in the frequency ranges where I have some hearing loss, making the whole listening experience quite improved and personalized. Added noise canceling really makes a difference in creating a pristine listening experience. When activated, my surroundings virtually disappear allowing me to more deeply experience my favorite music in minute detail. I find noise canceling is most effective at canceling steady droning sounds, like fans and engine noises. For times when sound isolation is not desired or would compromise safety, I can change modes to "Ambient Aware" and the earbuds will actively blend the environmental sound with my audio allowing me to stay connected with my surroundings. I find this useful for outdoor exercise or public shopping where ambient awareness is necessary for safety and courtesy. These earbuds are very comfortable and stay in well. I found the pre-installed medium sized tips to be just right for my comfort, and I have worn them for many hours at a time with no fatigue. Some people report they prefer earbuds with a stem for staying in place better, but I have no problem with these “dot” style earbuds staying in place very well. The touch controls are easy to navigate once you get the hang of the single-tap, multi-tap, and long-tap gestures, and the touch controls can be further customized with the JBL Headphones app to suit your preferences. I find the larger flat surface of this design also creates a more ample touch surface that is easier to trigger than stem earbuds. This makes the touch controls less fickle and more pleasant to use. Phone call audio quality is excellent, and people I call tell me that the outgoing audio is clear and natural sounding. I have other earbuds where the microphone quality seems a bit compromised and the sound quality is a bit "off”. But these Tune Buds 2 appear to have really risen to the next level with outstanding microphone quality. As stated, sound quality is where these earbuds shine, and overall, I’m thrilled with my new JBL Tune Buds 2 noise cancelling earbuds and find my music enjoyment has been taken to a new level. Highly recommended!

JBL Tune Buds 2 are a solid performer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently switched to the JBL Tune Buds 2, and they have transformed my listening experience. Connecting the JBL Tune Buds 2 to my phone was a breeze. They pair quickly and maintain a stable connection without any hassle. They instantly showed up in my JBL app and from there I was able to tweak eq settings which even offered a “Extreme Bass” setting which was definitely extreme. I setup touch/tap controls for both music as well as calls. Charging & Battery Life: One of the most impressive features is the fast charging and long battery life. With my previous earbuds, I had to charge them every night. Now, I can go days without worrying about battery depletion. The fast-charging capability is a game-changer—around 10-20 minutes of charge, and I'm good to go for hours. Comfort & Fit: These earbuds are perfect for gym enthusiasts like me. They come with 3 different ear tip sizes for a custom fit. I don't have to constantly adjust them during workouts. They stay put through intense exercises and don't cause any discomfort. Sound Quality: The sound quality is what truly sets these guys apart. These earbuds boast spatial sound as well as pure bass and offer a rich, deep bass and crystal-clear audio, making my music and calls sound fantastic. The noise-canceling feature is top-notch, effectively blocking out ambient noise and letting me immerse myself in the music. There is also “Ambient Aware” mode so you can hear what’s going on around you while listening to your music as well as “Talk Thru” which not only lowers music very low but amplifies your ambient sounds for conversation. If you are in the fence for a well rounded earbud without breaking the bank, pull the trigger on these. They are solid performers, built like a tank and have thunderous bass for their portability.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, I appreciate the minimal packaging. The outside box is busy with text and icons. Both buds came in 80% charged which I really appreciated. Quick start instructions were just enough to get started - though I had to look twice on how to pair a second device. One thing I noticed right off the bat is that the charging base can lay flat on its back but can also balance (and spin) upright. It's a pleasure to hold in the hand with smooth corners all around. Glad it's using standard USB-C port. After connecting to my iphone I proceeded to the app and noticed the person-ifi feature. Wish I knew it would take a whole five minutes to test my hearing range (frequency and amplitude). I proceeded to put on a podcast and finish washing the dishes. The noise cancelling function worked fine and controls were easy to access. The fit is much better than another pair of non-JBL buds I was wearing earlier in the day. Then I put on put on some Youtube (Rick Beato - Producer reacts to crazy instagram musicians) while playing with the equalizer in the JBL app. Very nice. I also have a pair of JBL live buds 3 and found I don't really use the LCD screen all that much so I haven't missed too much from the lack of it in this unit. All the features and more can be had from the JBL app. Taking the pair to some workouts , I couldn't get a good secure fit when doing some HIIT. The left unit had a good fit but might right one needed re-adjusting - I probably need to replace it with the larger earbud tip. Trying to switch between two devices isn't as seemless…I would hit play on my iphone and it would resume my PC's video. To be fair I've seen this on numerous non-JBL devices as well so it could be Bluetooth protocol. There was one evening that the charging unit let out a long beep - is it its way to say it needs charging? If so it's quite ungentle. At the time of this writing I've misplaced my set. While there is a Find-my-buds feature, my buds looks to have disconnected from the phone when placed in the charging case - which makes sense. I wish it could be more Tile-like and show a last known location and time-stamp. Overall I'm very pleased with the sound quality and noise cancelation. Charging case isn't overly huge so easy to slip in ones pocket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shape of these earphones is slightly different from the JBL TourPro 3, which may have impacted the effectiveness of the active noise cancelling feature. The earpiece is also a bit smaller than prior designs, which is beneficial for medium-sized ears, making them more comfortable to wear for extended periods compared to the TourPro 3. The overall sound quality is good, with a clear separation in the mid-range frequencies without significant bass booming at lower frequencies. There are issues with firmware v3.8.0 that every 3 days or so one of the earbud will drop its connection to the phone, it never recovers until we put the bud back to case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never been overly impressed with the sound and fit of earbuds. Typically there was (for me) a lack of real sound quality as well as the issue of a tight, and comfortable, fit. That has all changed with the advent of my JBL Tune Buds 2 that i received a few days ago. Impressive and dynamic sound as well as a fit that doesn't seem unnatural or ‘loose’. Let’s start with the bottom end, and I mean a REAL bottom end! Music bass is tight and natural and when watching some of my favorite sci-fi flicks, the sound effects were nothing short of spectacular! The synthesized distortion effects in the soundtrack were delightfully detailed and powerful. The high end was breathtakingly detailed (as I have come to expect from JBL after over forty years of using both their professional, as well as consumer end, products here in the St. Louis Mo metro area) and brilliant. I was completely caught off-guard by the noise-canceling function…. Very cool! The ability to switch between noise-canceling as well as hearing ambient sound is a nice feature. As a musician, I really like using these earbuds as opposed to headphones due to the limitations of even wireless headphone units. So much freedom in the studio as well as comfort! If I could, I would give these earbuds a 6 out of 5! Once again, JBL proves to me what real sound reproduction is all about!!! I have already recommended these to some of my friends who are wanting something better than what they currently are using! I do have one complaint, however. And, it has nothing to do with the product. It is the way that user ‘manuals’ are printed so small and use ‘pictures’ to show how to operate various functions… Not a fan…🙃

Big Sound, Strong ANC, and Great Value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Tune Buds 2 are standout true wireless earbuds, ideal for anyone who loves deep bass and solid noise cancellation without spending a fortune. They offer impressive sound quality for their price, with powerful lows, balanced mids, and sharp highs, making them great for everything from music to podcasts. Designed to be lightweight and comfortable, they’re easy to wear for extended periods. However, some users might struggle to get a perfect fit, which can affect the effectiveness of the noise cancellation. While the active noise cancellation (ANC) isn’t quite at the level of premium brands like Sony or Bose, it does a good job of reducing background noise like chatter or light traffic. Battery life is a major plus, delivering around 11 hours of playtime on a single charge, with extra power from the charging case—perfect for long days on the go. The Bluetooth connection is reliable, and the multipoint feature makes it easy to switch between devices like your phone and laptop. The JBL Headphones app adds extra value, letting you fine-tune the EQ settings and adjust noise-canceling levels to your preference. All in all, if you’re looking for earbuds with great sound, dependable battery life, and effective ANC without a hefty price tag, the Tune Buds 2 are a strong choice. Just make sure to find the right fit to get the best performance.
