Mounting & Setup Guide

Choose the Right Location: Mount on a mature tree trunk at least 10" in diameter, preferably near hardwood or nut-producing trees such as oak, walnut, or hickory.

Mount at the Proper Height: For maximum protection from ground predators, install 12–30 feet high in the tree. Residential installations may also be successful at 4–10 feet.

Select a Quiet Area: Place the squirrel house away from busy roads, loud machinery, and heavy foot traffic.

Encourage Fast Discovery: Place a handful of raw whole peanuts, walnuts, or sunflower seeds inside the entrance to help attract foraging squirrels.

Important Winter Note: Solar charging efficiency may be naturally reduced during low-sun winter months. We recommend mounting the pivoting solar panel in a location that remains safe and easy to reach if you need to manually remove the battery for a quick indoor charge.
