John Derian for Target Metal House Card Box

This is my favorite 2025 J.D/Target pick! Added this to my small/miniature house collection. It's a beautiful little house. Pefect for adding a battery operated candle inside. I make miniature wreaths so I will be adding my own wreaths to the door and keeping this house displayed all year. It will be great for storing my miniatures. The best!

I was hesitant to buy when I saw the initial reviews, but honestly, I don't agree with most of the negativity (damaged in transit is a different story). I think this house is adorable, and the price point is reasonable. I love that they thought of covering the windows with a material that hides the contents but allows lights in the inside to show through them. My expensive Terrain Concordville houses don't even do that! Big John Derian for Target fan!

This house is very cute for the price; however, it would be great to get it as shown in the picture, with the Christmas wreath on the door and an undamaged roof. I’ve seen other reviews that had similar issues, but I wanted to take a chance with the hope that Target was starting to take customer feedback seriously, but nope, they’re not. The wreath wasn’t even in the box it was shipped in, so it’s not like it fell off during shipping…they purposely sent it that way. It’s such a shame that Target does this. It happens often, with items I’ve ordered that were shipped in boxes that are too big, and appropriate shipping materials were not used to wrap breakable items. I would say that 75% of the items I have ordered over the past few years were either broken, missing, or the wrong item was sent. Target can do better than this, but they are choosing not to.

I got mine in store since I was worried about quality from the other reviews- and it’s perfect! Such a cute way to store Christmas cards and a generous size for the low price! It’s a great find.

This is exactly what I was looking for to store old holiday/birthday cards.. it did not seem flimsy to me, and so far is working a treat.

Other than the missing wreath and bow, which I assumed it came with, this was exactly as it's shown in the photos. If you look close up, it is distressed and vintage looking. It's not cheap or flimsy. However, mine arrived dented due to the package being damaged (outer box was badly damaged) so I returned it and am going to look for one in store or order again. It's cute and can be customized to a lot of different creative uses.

High quality and unique. I will probabky keep it on display year round and just switch out the wreath.

This item is lovely and well worth the price point. I won’t be using it to hold cards because I love the way it looks with a single flickering candle inside.

After reading reviews, I was concerned before picking up my order. When I saw it, I was overjoyed, it is meant to be and look weathered and that was the way it was designed (other than the issues others had with a missing roof piece and missing wreath, of course)! Mine looks antiqued and lovely and so happy to have a piece made out of metal. I am so excited to use this house for cards!! I will also use it to store mine while writing them.

it's absolutely adorable! It looks like a vintage home out of a movie. I plan on leaving it out all year. I'm going to find different seasonal wreaths to put on it

I had been eagerly waiting for the release of this Card Box House to gift to a family member, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. The item arrived placed loosely in a box without being wrapped or inspected, resulting in damage and missing parts. We truly love Target and appreciate the helpful support with the return, but it would be great to see a bit more care and quality control in the shipping department to ensure items arrive in perfect condition.

This house has all of the nostalgic holiday vibes! I ordered mine for a drive up order, only to get home and find that the back half of the hinged roof and wreath were missing. This is not a reflection of the actual piece, which is beautiful! I ordered another online and am hoping this one comes as shown in the picture - you can add a faux candle inside for a nice glow through the windows. I can't wait to display this during the holiday season this year!

This is a large metal box with nice detail. Unfortunately it arrived damaged as all of the items were just thrown in the box with no packaging material. The box arrived dented with several white paint stripes on it. It is still a nice piece but I would try and buy it in the store and not have it shipped.

I’m pretty shocked by the negative reviews. This is an adorable decorative piece with a fair price for the quality. Is it perfect? Of course not, it only costs $20. If you’re looking for perfection, I’m sure you can find a better one for upwards of $100 at a higher end retailer. But for $20, this one is a fair buy. At least it’s not made of MDF like many of the Halloween and Christmas houses that Target shoppers just love, for some reason, and consistently rate 4 stars.

I went to go do a store pick up at target and the delivery person handed me a house with a missing wreath and a missing back door on the roof. All I was told was sorry and I had to go inside and wait in the line to return it. They said they had the item in stock and I had to go look all throughout the store and found nothing. I also tried to purchase other things from the John Derian collection and the items were sitting on the shelf in the box shattered. Target is very careless with fragile items. I would advise inspecting the items before you have someone drive over to pick up things. This makes me think twice about shopping at target. Other companies care about their product and target clearly doesn’t.

This is such a sweet house to have on a mantle for the holidays! There is of course some quality control issues where glue is showing underneath the wreat, but it is as expected with an item that was not hand-crafted. Reminds me of Home Alone or The Holiday!

This is adorable. I don’t agree with the poor reviews because it’s super cute and I can’t wait to put my cards in it. It’s supposed to have a vintage metal feel to it and it does. So happy I bought one before they were gone.

As a doll house lover I couldn't resist this adorable house. I was very pleased to see that the windows are transparent so I can place a light inside the house to light it up. The size is perfect for a decoration or to hold cards as suggested in the writeup. It is a substantial size so it has many options for use. It is very well made and adorable. The back half of the roof is hinged and lifts up. I am thrilled with my John Derian House. I highly recommend this house.
