Description
Totem is an award-winning design that combines all your waste and recycling in one compact unit. It features two compartments arranged vertically, which saves space and makes them very easy to fill and empty. Each compartment has a removable bucket that can be fitted with a single standard liner for general waste or two smaller bags, using the integrated bag hooks, for separating different types of recycling. Breather vents in the bucket sides make removing a full liner easier. Totem also features a ventilated odor filter in the main lid that helps reduce moisture and odor build up from waste. The design comes with a 3-litre (0.8 US Gallon) removable food waste caddy that can be stored in either compartment, or on the worktop. Stylish, practical and durable, Totem is available in two sizes – Totem Max (60 litres/15.8 US Gallons) and Totem Compact (40 litres/10.5 US Gallons). Custom-fit liners for the main compartments and compostable liners for the food waste caddy are available separately, as are replaceable odor filters. Stainless-steel versions feature a fingerprint-proof coating, whilst other models feature an easy-clean powder-coated steel finish. Choose the right custom-fit liner: IW2 and IW6

Great Product
This was recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint. The recycling element works very well for us and keeps worktops clear of stuff waiting to be taken out to recycling bins. Took advantage of the sale price with extra bin bags.

Really useful recycling bin
This bin means no more recycling cluttering up my kitchen and freeing up worktop space with its integrated food waste bin. Only negative is I would have preferred that it had handles on the sides to help with moving it when you want to clean underneath.

Does the job, but not as good as older version.
Bought this to replace original 48ltr Joseph Joseph totem bin after the lid button broke. We’d had that bin for around 8 years! Tried to get a replacement lid but no one stocks it anymore. Have to say this one is not as good. Feels very flimsy and unstable compared to the last one. Despite this being 60ltr there is no more room for waste than before. It seems the extra space is in the recycling part. The lid is also much less secure than the last one. If there’s even the slightest bit of excess rubbish in the bin it keeps popping open, which is somewhat irritating.

Perfect size and colour
Love this bin which replaces 2 separate bins in my kitchen. The colour and size of the bin is perfect for my colour scheme. I would definitely recommend this bin.

Poor Design
We have had the bin replaced three times now due to the spring lid mechanism breaking. Once the three year guarantee expires, the manufacturers will no longer replace the bin. I can only say that Joseph Joseph design for this product is poor and considering the price of the product, I don't think it is worth it. Take my advice and buy a bin from another manufacturer who know how to design and do not try to worm out of the guarantee like Joseph Joseph did with me.

Great assest to our kitchen
Great assest to our kitchen having just got a puppy we used to keep our recycling in a bag but this wasn’t practical as the puppy was taking it out! This bin keeps everything in one place, perfect height not too big which I was worried about.

The bin is good however
The bin is good however the lid to the food bin is small and it can easily be lost in the black bin zone which obviously not great it need a “keeper” to avoid this problem. Also the handle to this small bin isn’t great to pick up. Bin is doing its job - compact waste storage pre disposal for our smaller kitchens which are not designed for recycling but there are refinements that would improve the product

Do not buy
Made of cheaper materials than original version. This company is supposed to have a reputation for great design, but bin bags do not fit it, so they want you to buy their expensive bespoke bags. They have obviously put maximising profits ahead of the customer, The bin is rickety and feels like they have cut their costs to produce a cheap product. I will never buy another product from them.

I took a while to decide as the price is a lot, however I don’t regret it as it looks great (as far a bin can) It makes organising recycling easy and the food caddy inside is perfect as I hate having these on the side.

This bin is not as well made as the first recycle bin i had. The food recycle bin inside is too small. The whole bin is not as well made and is over priced. Unfortunately I lost my receipt on the first 60 litre Joseph bin and they would not guarantee when I had a problem with it, plus the part is unavailable to order even with a 10 year guarantee
