New formula not as good
I’ve been using it for a couple of years and the new formula is not as good. My hair becomes too oily throughout the day.

Too Oily Compared to the Old Formula
I’ve been using the Elixir Ultime hair oil for years and always loved the old formula. Unfortunately, the new version feels way too oily. Even though I only applied it to the ends of my hair, it made my hair greasy the next day. Compared to the old ingredients, this new formula just doesn’t work for me.

Awful reinvention of what was a great product
Why they changed the original formula I have no idea. I have been using this for years but the new version is awful, made my hair look really greasy and didn't smooth my flyaway like the old one did so well. It doesn't even smell the same. This should have been given a new name not repackaged x especially at this price point.

I was very disappointed with this product. I have been using the other Kerastase products for years but this is the first time I have used the Ultime Elixir. I agree with other reviews; It left my hair feeling and looking greasy and dirty. Very disappointing especially after paying so much for it.

The new formula just does not compare. Heavy, greasy, nothing like the OG. Not to mention the size reduction and price increase. Just so disappointing in every way. Looking elsewhere now. Good bye Kerastase.

Poor
This formula is no longer the same. I have been using this oil for 10yrs plus and will not be buying it again until the original returns and the packaging. Not only is the packaging a let down; the product is oily and does not have the same quality. My hair is a (coloured blonde) it does not get oily but now does from this and the smell is horrible.

Bring back the OG
I have been using the old formula for years, but the new version but does not compare. One pump makes the hair look greasy whether you use it in damp hair before blow drying or on dry hair. Won’t be re-purchasing until you bring back the old formula. Much better options now on market for a cheaper price!

Don’t buy this
Don’t buy this new version, it is terrible now. It used to be the best oil on the market (for my hair at least) now it is too heavy and leaves a greedy film on your hair - looks like you haven’t washed it in days.

Disappointing new formula
Finished 3 bottles and bought a new bottle with new formula. I was socked by how the new formula weighted my hair down. I used the same amounts and the new one make my hair disgustingly oily and sticky. So disappointed. Please bring the old formula back!!!

Elixir refillable oil
Have been using the precious oil elixir product and loved it. Non-greasy and my hair was super shiny after it. So when it got upgraded to this one, I was like ok, there was nothing wrong with the previous version. I liked the bottle cause it was lightweight so easy to pack when traveling. Ordered the new one and sorry but I don’t love it and will not buy it again. The bottle is heavy and clunky, the refill part comes out of you twist it out of place a little bit. And the oil itself, something has changed cause it leaves my hair greasy and oily after I put it on. Really disappointed. Bring back the old version please.

It has changed. I am not going to buy it anymore. The old formula was amazing. Even the packaging was better. I hate that I have spent more money on this expecting to be at least the same oil, but the truth is, it is worse... I am sad that I did not read the reviews before :(

I used to love the old formula. I bought it because it smelled really nice. The new formula has no scent at all. I don’t think it’s as good for my hair, either. I am not going to buy this product anymore.

Quantity and Quality decreased.
This hair oil WAS amazing. The consistency was perfect, the fragrance was pleasant and it left my hair soft and moisturised. The formula has changed, become more expensive by a LARGE sum and the quantity is smaller. I adore various other kerastase products but the new elixir and its package is a huge miss. Some other people definitely agree that the old formula and packaging was much more convenient + effective.
