Q: Do you need the water filter holder to use the filter cartridges? I noticed this kit does not come with one and my keurig (k compact) does not have one built in. Are the filters compatible with my model and if so, how do I use them?

A: If you choose to use the water filter cartridges, you will need the water filter handle in order to attach the filter in the water reservoir. The K-Compact coffee maker is compatible with the Keurig Short Handle Water Filter Kit. We hope this helps!

The descaling solution did not work! Followed instructions exactly as provided and the descaling light continues to flash on my unit! Ran through 12 rinse cycles at 12 ounces after descaling and nothing has changed.

one of many things I buy here...using reusable K cup now too but having some issues on filtering not like the Kcup pods we use also...need to improve too much sediment in the cup after brewing...contacted Keurig but say unawre of the problem filter better in pods but can not purchase to use in reuseable one

I use filtered water so any residual is minimal. I didn't really taste any difference after using it but I do wish the kit contained more than 1 application, like the 3 rinse pods.

The bundle is convenient but probably not the most economical option. Some commented that it didn't work and that the descale light remained on after its use. I found the performance to be excellent. When using, it's necessary to engage the descaling cycle as opposed to the standard brewing mode. To do this, the Keurig machine must be powered off. This step is required! Then, press the 8-oz and 12-oz buttons simultaneously until the brewing button flashes. Press the flashing brewing button to begin the descaling cycle. When done correctly the product works wonderfully well. I do wonder, though, if white vinegar would be equally effective.

While the kit seemed useful, the descaling seemed to make no difference to the flavour of our coffee. Perhaps due to the type of water we have here. The kit also came with two water filters that I thought may improve the coffee; however, it was not mentioned that one has to purchase an actual filter system in order to use the water filter. Instruction on the box and inner brochure were quite poor. I had to use those and the quick start instructions that came with the keurig before I could figure out what to do. And I have a Ph.D. No kidding. These are small annoyances which can be fixed quickly with clearer step by step instructions and more information about how the water is filtered.
