An important step of your Keurig® coffee maker maintenance routine, Keurig® Descaling Solution keeps your coffee maker clean, performing at its peak, and beverages tasting their best. Keurig® Descaling Solution is the only Keurig® recommended cleaning solution to be used with all Keurig® coffee makers. Descaling is an important process that cleans the inside of your coffee maker. Over time, calcium deposits called scale can build up inside your coffee maker. If left unchecked, these buildups can affect the performance of your coffee maker and taste of your beverages. Keurig® Descaling Solution is an effective, fast-acting, and odorless solution which helps clean and remove calcium and mineral deposits to keep your coffee maker clean and brewing at its best. To preserve longevity of your coffee maker, we recommend using Keurig® Descaling Solution every 3 months or as often as needed (depending on the mineral content of your water, you may need to descale more frequently). Q: Just bought a Keurig K-70 coffee maker from a thrift store & did the pre brew sequence. Made first cup and now the menu says to "descale". We use distilled water. Do we really need to descale?

Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. Descaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Also, you can use distilled water in your Keurig brewer but we don't recommend it because it can change the taste profile of your coffee by making it bitter.

Q: Can I use this solution in my Nespresso but adjusted to the correct quantity for it?

A: I have been using it on my nespresso for the last 3 times, as the nespresso packages are no sold anywhere, you never know when you have to descale, so ordering isn't realistic. I have had no issues.

Descaling Problem
When reservoir was empty of descaling solution coffee maker let out bunch of steam. I shut machine down let cool for 30 minutes then machine would not power on. Talked to Keurig via chat line and person stated he would get support to call me but never happened..

Poor instructions
4 stars because the instructions are lacking. I had to google how to place my machine into descaling mode. If you do not switch your machine into descaling mode the DESCALE alert will not cease. For my machine while it is off you must select 8 and 12 for 3 seconds to trigger the descaling mode. You’re welcome!

Easy to Use Descaling Solution
It was so easy, not smelly like vinegar is, and makes you want to descale and clean your machine instead of dreading it. We love our Keurig machines, and we have 2 - one for home with a coffee pot feature as well as pods, and the other slim model for our RV.

Extremely Simple Process
As far as I can tell it worked well and did exactly what it said it would do... descale the machine. The notice went away once it completed. And it was extremely simple to perform.
