Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the flexes naturally. keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Gane Changer!

This is perfect for a tubie baby. My baby is wearing a size 2T and she is two years old. There isn't much stretch to these but she is a petite baby and it fit her perfect. She also has Griplok on the left side of her tummy where we secure the extension, and that's accessible through the second opening.

W Target!! I hope target continues to make adaptive clothing! My daughter has cerebral palsy and wears diapers. She is not able to stick her hands down her pants with this bodysuit!!! Highly recommend!

Great for kids with autism! These are very well made and I live that they have two closure lengths in the crotch area which is helpful as your child grows. These look like a regular shirt when worn with shorts. Now we just need these in an athletic fabric for the hot summers!

haven't tried it on my daughter yet, material is heavy so not a lightweight vest for summer, that's fine, it seems like good quality material, well made, access for feeding tube. The only fault I have is the sizing chart, I found it very hard to figure out what size to get my 7 year old, the sizing chart online with the clothing really wasn't helpful, I picked medium (8,10 on size chart) but on the clothing the size is clearly marked 7/8. it's the only issue I've found with cat and jack, bought a child's jacket size large, it would fit me, the vest in a medium...i think it will just fit my child right now. the sizing chart online is just too broad and not accurate, but clothing quality is great. I would say it is true to size, if you could figure out what size to get.

This is such a great product! My daughter with disabilities is 16 and done growing, but she's also petite, so the XL fits, but I wish these came in XXL. I bought many of these long and short sleeves and they work great to keep her busy hands away from all her medical ports and out of her diaper.

Great option for older bedwetters
