About the Book
The Kingdom of Tundo, the last refuge of magic, is dying. Only the final heir of the Dula bloodline can restore its fading light. With mythic creatures as allies, he must unite a fractured land, awaken ancient powers, and rekindle Tundo's lost glory in a sweeping epic of destiny, courage, and Filipino legend.Book Synopsis
Kingdom of Tundo is an epic fantasy comic set in the world of Mayi, where magic is fading and corruption threatens to consume what remains. The story follows Bunao Dula, the lost son of a once-benevolent ruler, who returns to his ancestral homeland after years away. Tundo, once majestic and proud, now lies in ruin, ravaged by the Shadows--insidious forces that corrupt humankind and spread decay through the kingdom.
Bunao must face betrayal, family treachery, and the ghosts of his past as he struggles to unite a fractured people. Along his journey, he encounters the Myth-folk, legendary beings tied to Tundo's fading magical legacy, who may hold the key to saving--or dooming--the land. Together with these allies, Bunao battles not only external enemies but also the ambition and jealousy of his brothers, whose schemes have helped plunge Tundo into chaos.
As Bunao regains lost memories, he confronts his youthful mistakes and the heavy mantle of destiny. His quest takes him through undead lands, monstrous legacies, and trials that test both his strength and spirit. To reclaim his birthright and defy the Shadows, Bunao must become the leader Tundo desperately needs before the kingdom is lost forever.
About the Author
M. A. Del Rosario is a Filipino writer, illustrator, and storyteller whose work deepens the mythic fabric of Philippine folklore. He runs Paper Drawing Studio, self-publishing graphic novels and short stories that fuse fantasy, horror, and local legend--his catalogue includes Kingdom of Tundo, Gods of Manila, Tikbalang, and Aswang. He began in advertising and local magazine writing before pivoting to comics, driven by early loves of superheroes and mythic storytelling. Del Rosario's art style draws influence from Sergio Toppi, Bernie Wrightson, and Dave McKean, and he emphasizes narrative layout, panel pacing, and atmosphere in his sequential work. He is also active in promoting comic creation in the Philippines, speaking on the importance of local voices in graphic storytelling.
