A: No, only a water softener will change the hardness of water. The filter should filter out some of the chlorine cities add to the water for disenfection. It may make your hair feel less dry though.

It was easily installed, however my shower head routinely loses pressure. I have to take apart the filter and shake it, put it back in and the pressure gets stronger. We don't have hard water and we've had shower filters before that didn't have this problem. Probably will be looking for another alternative

I recently moved into a building where the water is very not like Vancouver, Canada. The water stinks of chlorine and not drinkable like the rest the lower mainland. I needed to filter up my apartment and purchased this product and an extra filter. My hair feels soft again and my skin looks so much better. Love Kitsch so much! I did look into other products because I'm trying to support local products but couldn't stand the look of it or reviews were awful. I love Kitsch and though times are weird right now, I'm still a forever customer because I love and trust the products.

I have super hard water where I live. my skin is always dry, itchy, tight after a shower, and my hair always has buildup. today was my first shower using the filter and my hair feels soft and fluffy, not weighed down. my skin is less dry and less itchy for sure! I think it works!

It was easy to install and worked good for almost a month, then I lost water pressure and the shower head began to whistle. I took the filter off and cleaned everything but ultimately had to replace the filter. I was hoping it would last longer than a month. The water isn't bad in my town, can't imagine how often it would need to be changed in areas with poor water quality.

**I HIGHLY recommend this shower filter!!** Don't waste your money on the shower filter competitors charging hundreds of dollars for a shower filter package; this one filters the same contaminants and leaves your hair silky and doesn't dry out your skin either. I'm a challenging consumer, too! I have an autoimmune disease that damages my oil and sweat glands so they don't work. I suffered through painful showers before this filter. Now i joy my showers and have been able to decrease the thickness of my lotion!

I think that it made my water feel softer at the start but I just went to take a shower after about 1-2 months of it working to the entire filter literally just falling off when i turned on the water, the threaded portion that connects to the water out in my shower snapped off from the rest of the filter just with water pressure. I might rebuy it but I hope that mine was just a quality issue.

This filter has helped SIGNIFICANTLY- I can enjoy showers again! It was an easy install, and changing filters is so simple. Only downside I've noticed is that as the filter gets old, it does drastically decrease the water pressure. This can be fixed to simply up keeping the change of the filters but when you haven't gotten the new one yet it can be a bit sad to have little to no water pressure. Overall, it's worth it for the relief I get from irritated skin.
