At Lands' End we're proud to believe every body is a beach body. And that goes for kids too! Fortunately little boys don't usually need much to have fun in the sun. Just some sandals a fluffy towel a bucket and shovel...and our great volley swim trunks of course. Made from durable polyester fabric these swim bottoms block harmful UV rays and provide UPF 50 sun protection that doesn't fade wash away or pollute the ocean. The amazing material is also quick drying (so he won't get stuck in a soggy suit) and resists damage from chlorine. We've also added a faux fly back pocket with drainage grommets and a supportive mesh lining. The elastic waistband has plenty of stretch and the functional drawstring can be tightened or loosened as needed. Take these packable swim trunks along on your next family vacation. He can wear them when he's splashing in the hotel pool playing in the surf or zipping down a water slide. And since they're machine washable caring for them couldn't be easier.

Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Not the same quality

    I purchase lands end swim for my 3 children every summer. I bought my son 4 of these suits this year and each pair have either ripped apart at the seams or torn and stretched that one month in, I need to replace them all. Very disappointed in the poor quality turn Lands Ends products have taken.

    Sun Fun

    I bought my son the alligator themed shorts and he really liked them. They had a fun print and he can wear them all day at the pool or running around after a swim. They're not too loose and not too snug. Fit perfectly and are just the right length for him.

    Grommet Pulled Away from Material

    My son was only able to wear these 2 times before the grommet pulled away from the material. Fabric then proceeded to fray. There was no way to secure the waist. I should've contacted Lands End at the time, but I just didn't get around to it. Lands End - my sons have worn your swim trunks for years, and I expect the usual quality. You can do better than this!

    Well below the standard of Lands End

    I have never minded spending more money on Lands End clothing. because I was confident in the quality of the items I was purchasing. Bathing suits could be passed down to younger siblings or worn year after year by adults. However, this year, I purchased 3 swimming trunks for my son and 2 of those are of very poor quality. He has had 2 occasions each to wear these bathing suits and 2 of the 3 are already damaged. Additionally, the sewn in underwear are vastly different sizes despite purchasing 3 pairs of size XL swimsuits. The lack of consistency between the sizes is frustrating and not what I have grown to expect from Lands End.

    Great suit for my slim guy!

    Every year I buy my son many suits trying to find one that fits right since he is slim. This is the best fit and doesn’t slide down one bit. Great quality so I purchased a bunch since my son is in pool all summer long.
