Kind of tight

Nice enough hat, but I’m a woman and this men’s hat is too small. I’m hoping it’ll stretch a bit. I have a big German head.

Great idea, poorly executed

XL was too small for my husband and partially too small for me. It's a very snug fit for a woman with an average-size head. The ear flaps do not cover my ears completely. I'll donate it to someone with a smaller head and higher ears.

seems a little light material wise

bought this for a Christmas gift. if your hat size is 7/8 or smaller don't buy this hat it comes down over my ears kind of sloppy fit.

Unadjustable

My husband said the largest was tight so I had to return it. Too bad they aren't made with some stretch and adjustability like in years past.

Love it. I do a lot of winter hiking. This hat keeps my head warm and the sun out of my eyes. In very cold conditions it’ll fit nicely under a hood.

Nice to have strap

I got the hat as a gift. I like the hat. I was looking at the other photos posted in the review. I had to laugh! The guy looks like he’s wearing a Flying Nun hat! I do have a suggestion: add a separate snap-on strap with adjustable tightening so one can hold the ear flaps down by strap under your chin. I’m trying to find the same size snap, but not successful at the two stores I went to. Maybe those are specific to China. If you can get a couple mailed to me I’ll make my own stap. When it’s windy the ears get cold. So I got a couple of small paper clips and saw they made a nice fit to the ear flap snaps. Got a shoe lace and tied the two paper clips attached to the ear flaps! Now I can go out to walk the dogs in this 10mph wind on this 43 degree day!

unflattering styling, poor quality construction

Thought this would be a good looking old-timey winter hat, but the styling is all wrong -- with the ear flaps down, the hat profile is almost cylindrical. It just looks goofy. And the quality of the construction is poor -- I doubt this hat would hold up more than one season. I'm sending it back.

badly designed, imo. The ear flaps don't stay in place (when down) or do anything useful. Plus it's HUGE.
