    The good and the bad

    I love the fit and it is warm but not too warm. It packs down really well and is lightweight. The construction is good and it's comfortable in many different temperatures. This is a travel go-to for me. I pair it with a rain jacket (also Land's End) if it's really cold or wet. It says water repellant but I don't think it is. I leaned against the wet car tonight to get groceries out of the trunk and the jacket was drenched where it touched the car. More like water absorbent. I dislike the lack of cuff. All there is, is a thin piece of elastic and if you stretch your arm out whatever you are wearing underneath, pokes out. Air can easily go up the sleeve. This is a design flaw. Needs either a knit cuff or an adjustable cuff with a little longer sleeve. My arms are not long so it shouldn't be too short but it is due to the lack of cuff. I've had this coat for 2 winters now. It's functional and I do wear it often but needs tweaks. It looks good on. I like that the lines are not horizontal like a lot of coats. It gives it a slimming effect.

    Great jacket for travel.

    I love the style, color, and weight of this jacket. However, it seems odd that a long jacket doesn't have a double zipper. I would have purchased a second one in another color if it could unzip from the bottom for sitting down.

    Brownish Green Jacket

    I b ought this jacket in Evening Forest, thinking it would be a nice dark green. I think the color is more a brownish green and very dark. It wasn't the color that was shown on my computer, so I returned it. Other than the color, the jacket seemed to be well made. I was glad to see that Lands" End now makes women's jackets with adjustable hoods (in the back). Previously only the men's jackets had an adjustable hood (in the back). The adjustment helps tremendously to keep the hood out of one's eyes. The colors this year are too dull/dark. I am hoping that Lands' End brings in some brighter colors next year.

    Slim fit problem.

    I bought this last year and a shorter version the year before. I love the weight of it. I had to choose between a petite medium and petite large. Large was too big through the shoulders and bust. The medium was a little better fit, although it was snug around the waste and hips. I am 4’10”, and thicker around the middle. I wish Lands End would take into account that some customers don’t have slim figures, but have post menopausal bodies. A couple more inches in the waist and hips would make this jacket perfect, at least for this short lady.

    Warm, great fit and perfect sleeve length!

    I was hesitant on purchasing since so many other reviews noted that the length of the sleeves were very short for regular sizes. Even though I am 5 ‘4”, 42” bust , 195 lbs with a long torso, I purchased an XL TALL and the sleeves fit perfect! I love the fact that it also tapers in at the waist, even though I don’t have one😆. The hood is generous and covers my head perfectly for pop up rainstorms.

    Very flattering

    I hate buying jackets I’m tall with freakishly long arms so I can never find coats that have arms that reach down to my wrists except for Lands End. By far my favorite coat is my Down Winter Coat in Dark Stone from 2 seasons ago but due to losing a significant amount of weight it no longer fits. I got this coat in burgundy which is a beautiful color in Med Tall and it is actually a little big on me even with a sweater underneath and the arms stop midway down my hand. I probably could have gotten a small tall. The coat will be nice on a chilly New England day. For reference I’m 5’9” and weigh 152lbs.

    Everything is great except the sleeves

    I wear a plus size 16-18. I am from NY and now reside in GA, so I am a loyal coat purchaser from this company. I was looking for something warm but light as it’s only “cold”here 3 months out of the year. The jacket size is good, length I was hoping it was slightly longer. However, the sleeves are incredibly short mid forearm to be exact. I’m not sure how you can put a warmth rating on this jacket with half the forearm Showing. I purchased in December so I’m not sure that I can return at this point.

    I got this last month to replace a huge and heavy down jacket. Not my color of choice, but I've been getting so many compliments that I might have to consider! It's lightweight, warm, and ling enough in the sleeves. Got a great price too! WIN!

    Poor quality. down poking out everywhere.

    After on ly 2 months of wear down is poking out EVERYWHERE along stich lines. This is NOT WELL made at all. Disapointed.

This can occur as the down plumes are very small and they can work their way out of the small holes created by the stitching on the jacket. Washing and drying your jackets periodically will help reduce or eliminate this from happening. We recommend washing and drying the jacket following the recommended care instructions on the garment tag. The down filling will compact during the wash cycle. It is important to dry your jacket in the dryer following washing to dry and "refluff" the down insulation. For best results, we recommend placing 2-3 clean tennis balls in the dryer when drying your down items to help prevent the down from clumping together and allowing it to dry completely.     Too snug in bust.

    Bought the Lands End Expedition coat a month before and love it. Bought the Wanderweight packable down jacket in the same size. Soo tight in the bust, had to return. Hip and waist area fine, and wanted this one because it has a hood. Color was fun but sizing was off. I'm 5'6 165lbs, 38DD bust.

    Buyer beware...NOT warm, even for Florida!

    I cannot believe how much LE quality has decreased. This jacket should be warm enough for Florida but it certainly isn't! It is see-through and paper-thin. So disappointing. It looks great, though.

    I Own Two

    I own two of these jackets and really love them. Despite their light weight, they are very warm--plenty warm for 95% of the weather in the PNW. The only downside is the hood. It does not have anything to secure it, so if it is breezy, it won't stay on. Other than that, worth every penny.
