Q: Is this good for severely, dry, cracked lips? I'm extremely sick, bedridden for years, I'm dehydrated & a lot of meds don't help. I'm looking for some-thing as fab as Dr Lipp Nipple Balm. Any advic?

submitted by CookieMonster - 6 years ago
  • A: I use this as lip balm and find it to stay on and hydrate better than aquafor.

  • A: I use this product on my lips nightly after my shower and it works amazingly for preventing chapped lips! I work outside in the weather a lot and it is a lifesaver. Occasionally, I will apply it again in the morning. I am sure it would help protect them so they could heal if they were already chapped.

  • A: I've never used this for my lips, but I would think it would do the trick. Have you tried aquafor?

    submitted bymotherof1 - 6 years ago

Q: Do you have to wash this off before nursing the baby?

submitted by SuziB - 6 years ago
  • A: No, it's safe for baby.

    submitted byMd282 - 6 years ago
  • A: No. It is safe for baby to nurse after applying it and leaving it on.

Q: What is the full ingredients list on this?

submitted by audball - 6 years ago
  • A: The Lansinoh HPA Lanolin is a single ingredient product comprised 100% of Lanolin. It's safe for mom and baby, 100% natural and hypoallergenic. The unique refining process ensures a pure, high-quality product, with no preservatives, parabens, fragrance, or taste. It is recommended to apply the Lanolin after breastfeeding, instead of before, so that it has time to absorb into the skin. The NDC information indicated in a prior response was for Lansinoh's discontinued Diaper Rash Cream, not the HPA Lanolin.

Q: does this work if you breastfeed and babie has the thrash? will it help with the thrash on the breast?

submitted by Jane - 12 days ago
  • A: Hello Jane, Thank you for your questions. While Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream is bacteriostatic and won’t promote new growth; it does form a partially occlusive barrier, so it is not recommended that you use lanolin when you have thrush.

Q: How long is usually the expiration date

submitted by Soha - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello Soha, thank you for your question. Each tube of our Lanolin Nipple Cream is stamped with an expiration date at the crimped end of the tube in the format EXP MM YY. For example, EXP 12 21 would mean that the Lanolin expires in December of 2021. Each tube has a shelf life of 36 months. We hope this helps!

The ointment stained my bras. It is extremely oily.
1 reply from Lansinoh Team team - 12 days ago
Hi Elle, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our Lanolin Nipple Cream. The best thing to do is to treat the Lanolin stain like a grease stain prior to washing. If the item has already been washed and dried, it will be more difficult to remove the stain. Since lanolin is an organic ester; the stain will eventually come out, but it may take a special effort. First, spot treat the stain; it is recommended to use a grease-fighting dishwashing liquid (like Dawn), as this has shown to be quite effective for removing the stains. Next, soak the item, the longer the better, overnight if possible, in either hot water or some type of stain removing pre-treater. Finally, wash the stain as normal and it should come out.

This nipple cream is very thick and challenging to squeeze out of the tube if you have weak hands. You need to warm it up to be able to apply it to the nip of it feels like you’re going to rip the whole thing right off. I do love it for a multipurpose to keep in the diaper bag (lips, nose, cuticles etc.)

Hi Shelby, Thank you for your feedback. We recommend storing the Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream with the cap on, in a dry place at room temperature when not in use. If the Lanolin is stored at a cooler temperature, it can cause the the nipple cream to become too firm.

Best rich , creamy and most importantly effective! I have suffered with the bleeding problem for a week and then started researching for lotions or moisturizers that could help. And a lot of people recommended Lansinoh brand. Honestly, one of the best things ever made!

Breastfeeding MUST HAVE!

This brand is my go to. After having four kids that I breastfeed (still breastfeeding the last one) this is the one I always go to. Others seem to be too oily. Or leave a taste that my babies didn't like. Stains the shirt/bra, messy in general. That was not the case with this gem. I had a tube in my car, by my bed, in the diaper bag, in my office desk literally one everywhere bc when you have dry cracked nipple especially in the beginning of your breastfeeding journey. You need it and need it quickly. This was always my rescue.

This product works but on my goodness it stains everything. Giant oil stains on everything. For the price and stains I don’t think this is worth it. There are plenty of other products that work without ruining all your clothes.

When I got pregnant, this was one of the first things I was given. Trying to breastfeed and give my kid the best I could, I had no idea how much my nipples would hurt and crack. This cream really soothed the pain in between breastfeeding.

Did you know this doubles as a lip balm? It’s seriously my favorite lip balm/gloss because it keeps your lips hydrated for hours. I propose a petition to make a lip balm version so it’s less embarrassing to carry around in public ;)
