Bought fries at the Stratford Rotary Complex Arena and had to go back to ask what seasoning they use because they were SO GOOD. I've put Lawry's on my grocery list!

I read with interest the comments from some of your reviewers but I have to say that I have NO problems with the flavor consistency of this product over the years. It is magical when combined with fresh ground black pepper on any type of beef, chicken, pork or fish dish that I make. Baby back ribs coated in ollie oil and sprinkled with Lawry's Seasoned Salt and fresh ground black pepper is all you need along with 225 degrees of heat and time. Put the same seasoning on home-made french fires and you have my favorite meal!
Where has Season Salt with Black Pepper gone?

We have been using the black pepper variety of Season Salt for years, but I can no longer find it in local stores. Have you discontinued it? Such a great product.

I have a half full container of lawrys seasoned salt I saved thats over 20 years old. Tastes and smells as good as on day 1. Now they add sunflower oil. Over time it goes rancid. I can confirm with their Montreal steak seasoning. A couple years old and it smells horrible.. it too contains sunflower oil. Why? My old 40oz container had no expiration date. The new ones do. Adding an unnecessary ingredient that fouls the product over time ensures you restock with fresh product. Keeps the money flowing. I bet this will never see the light of day.

Got the 25% less sodium. Spice is way too salty if you a little too much.
Missing Something

The last 3 container of Lawry's are getting lighter in color. Is the paprika missing. Lawry's used to be red color, now it is almost white. New is not always better. I guess i have to add my own paprika, or find a new brand of seasoning. Lawry's was my main seasoning, now I am beginning to avoid it
Larger holes

The updated version of salt shaker has very wide holes leading to an increase in salt when shaken. This I'm sure leads to using up the salt sooner and buying more. I however am not happy with the forced increased usage so after many years of having lawry's salt on my table I will not purchase it again.

The formula HAS changed

Protestations to the contrary, the formula given in a number of these reviews is not what's on my old container. No sunflower oil & just paprika oleoresin & natural flavor after anticaking.
Is there even a competitor?

It’s Lawry’s, The standard for seasoned salt. I finally used up the big container my momma gave me when I moved out, so replacement time.

Lawry's has been a life long family staple. We're not into really spicy food, but Lawry's does the job. I am deathly allergic to pepper, and it is pepper free. But I can't find it in 4 oz bottles anywhere! I always carry one in my purse when eating out. Any ideas where I can find them?

Lawry's used to be my go-to seasoning. Now, however, it's NOTHING but salt. What happened to all the flavor it used to have. When I use it for homemade baked Chex Mix now, it's too salty to eat!

You were my ONE AND ONLY ! Until I learned to be a pretty FABULOUS home cook . Even then you were the base of RECIPES even you probably don't know. For the past 38 ish years , when I was first introduced to you at a pub with my friends , I fell in love ! I've introduced you to thousands of lost souls during our almost 40 year relationship . NO OTHER could duplicate . Your wonderfully unique SPICY personality has turned SALTY and BITTER !!! Shame on you . At this stage of my life I thought we would be together forever . So disappointed .

I've used Lawerys my entire life. I'm 66. I stopped using it because of corporate changes to make money. I wrote to you two years ago and the same thing has happened again. No flavor, just salt. Sick. When it happened last time the next container we bought was substantially darker in colour and the flavor was normal. Not any more. I now use Penzey's.
