THE LAWS OF ATTRACTION is about the danger a gang of outlaws brings to a small town and its people, in this story specifically a widow seamstress and a widower with three girls. It's about unexpected love and found family. It's about women's' rights, the struggle to have their voices heard, and take roles in the community against tradition and some men set in their ways and thinking. It's about faith and romance amidst hardship and danger. An overall sweet story full of heart. I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this town a bit from the first book. I liked Nell with her mix of dainty and gumption then and I love her even more in this story. She steps up so many times and shows her grit and determination as well as her heart when she brings three girls without a mother into her life. Of course their father gets brought in too before he even knows what's happening, which adds a bit of humor and sets things up for possible romance. Brand is as steady as they come with a vulnerability that makes him swoon-worthy as he tries to raise his girls as best he can. He has his own solid determination and the desire to help others. The gang who was introduced in the first book are still causing trouble in this one and Nell and Brand find themselves in the middle of it as the story progresses. It's a good mix of romance, women's fiction, a bit of inspirational elements and an underlying feeling of danger that grows to the climatic end. In the end, was it what I wished for? I enjoyed reading this. It's sweet with some parts more emotional and climatic than others. It's the loveable characters though, as they try to figure things out and find their own happily ever after with three adorable girls (I actually wouldn't mind a future series focused on them), that make this a great read! Content: Clean Source: I received a complimentary copy through Celebrate Lit, which did not require a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Mary Connealy has me hooked. I am enchanted by the wonderful and unique characters in her Wyoming Sunrise series. The Laws of Attraction is the second book and I could not stop reading. I absolutely love getting to spend time with Nell, Mariah, and Becky. The relationship with the three friends is unique and sweet, and I love how much they care about each other. Nell is such an interesting character. She is more than a bit mysterious. Arriving to town widowed with her brother, she has knowledge that most women or men don’t. She is also self reliant and doesn’t have any plans to have a man bossing her around. When Nell meets Brand, she loves that he has three daughters in desperate need of some dresses. Seeing a way to help them, and also get help herself, she jumps at the chance to have the girls come work at her shop. If they can learn to sew, maybe they can take over the boring job of making leather chaps that the men from her town can’t seem to get enough of. But when danger knocks on their door, will even Nell’s knowledge be enough to stop a deadly killer with those she loves in their sights? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Historical Romance. I couldn’t get enough of this book and was so sad when it was over. I can’t wait to read what Connealy comes up with next, I just know it will be another page turner. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers and was no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is book two in the Wyoming Sunrise series but I read it fine as a stand-alone. I would still love to read book one as this was so compelling and entertaining. You can always count on this author for a great read. I loved everything from the descriptive words, the writing style, the characters, the suspense, the humor, to the inspiration. It is an all around good choice. Nell was a complex character from her strength to face every situation head on to her tender side that saw a need in three young girls and met it no matter what. Brand was a struggling widower trying to be the best father he knew how. Add in the Deadeye Gang and their menacing ways and your are in for an adventure. I loved the sense of community and how they cared for each other. It made me want to move to Pine Valley Wyoming and stay for a bit. I recommend moving this to your immediate TBR pile. I received a complimentary copy from CelebrateLit. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required

Welcome to the Wild West where stage coach robbers are mean and are determined to not leave any witnesses. Yes folks during this time period it was down right dangerous to ride a stage coach. The outlaw gangs were hiding in wait to attack the innocent people who traveled by stage coach. I can’t imagine how scary it would be to see an armed person approaching and you were trapped with no way to escape. The author paints a great picture of how it was in Wyoming territory. We are introduced to Nell who is the local dress shop owner. She is one smart woman who paid close attention to her now deceased husband when he was a lawman. He taught her skills that has become valuable in her survival now. I did find it a little funny that her skills were being used to make chaps instead of pretty clothes for women. It has made her money doing this but she so wants to use her skills for pretty things instead of boring chaps for cowboys who probably don’t see the intricate skills she has. Brand is a hardworking man who is now raising his three daughters alone after the death of his wife. He feels inadequate to see to their needs at times which you can tell make him feel like he is failing his girls. The introduction to Nell shines a light on how much he needs to learn about raising girls. Her selfless act to make dresses for them in exchange for their work at her shop gives him hope. Oh my I could feel how excited those sweet girls felt when they found out they were getting a new dress. I was impressed by the skills Nell uses to help figure out who is behind the stage coach robberies. She becomes very important as she is able to identify certain things that others may have overlooked. One man who has survived the attack is hidden away in town with townspeople watching him around the clock. Is it possible that one of them is a part of the gang? The tension is high as the town tries to figure out who in their town is behind the killings. I liked how many came together to stand guard and protect each other. Community was very important in these troubled times and now they must stand together to rid their town of these dangerous men. I loved how the author gives Nell a prestigious job of Justice of the Peace. What an honor it was to be appointed as the second justice of the peace in America. She has a big responsibility presiding over court, signing subpoenas and other duties that involve the law. There is plenty of action in the story as the town gets together to hunt down the men who have been causing havoc and taking innocent lives. The author gives us a few surprises along the way which I loved. Be sure and grab a copy of this book that will give you a look at the Wild West and how a town comes together to help each other out. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Nell is a dressmaker in in a tiny town in 1800's Wyoming. There are so few women that all her customers are men, and though paid well, she is tired of making chaps for them. All that changes when a girl, Samantha, takes refuge in her shop because she is embarrassed that she and her sisters have had to come to town in boy's clothes. She wants a dress. Nell quickly sees the dad, Brand, a widower, is too proud to take charity, and offers to let Samantha, and her sisters work in her shop in exchange for clothes. Although tiny, this area has big trouble in the form of the Deadeye gang that has been killing and robbing for a while. They never leave any witnesses alive. Through many turns of events, Nell finds herself appointed to public office, and thrown in the middle of danger along with Brand and his girls. As they try to stay alive, and discover the identity of the gang members, they face many life and death perils. This book will draw you right in to the narrative. Although the subject is serious, the tale has humorous moments that make a great story even better. This book is second in a series, but it stands alone. This author never fails to entertain, and this is no exception. Clean and full of excitement, I recommend this five-star book. Fans of westerns, adventures, and well-written stories will enjoy this tale. Thank you, NetGalley and Bethany House, for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.

This new book by Mary Connealy will appeal to so many readers! Romance lovers will enjoy it, historical fiction fans will be thrilled, and anyone who's ever enjoyed a Western movie or TV show will be in their element. The Laws of Attraction is the second book in the Wyoming Sunrise and it offers us a chance to get to discover the real Nell Armstrong. A seamstress who's become wealthy by making chaps for the cowboys in Pine Valley, Wyoming, but secretly longs to make dresses with frills and lace. A childless widow who finds more than she bargained for when she befriends three young girls and their widowed father! Nell and Brand Nolte are the primary focus in The Laws of Attraction but there's also a reunion with Nell's friends Mariah and Becky. These three women aren't your typical Wild West females and they're proud of it! The Women's Suffrage Movement is on the rise, Nell becomes a Justice of the Peace, and the Deadeye Gang continues their deadly rampage of robbing the stages coming into Pine Valley. Will the new Justice of the Peace become their target? If you're looking for exciting, shoot-'em-up western action, suspenseful plot twists, and Connealy's trademark humor, grab a copy of this book. You won't be disappointed, and you'll be as eager as I am to read Marshaling Her Heart, the last book in the Wyoming Sunrise series! I received a copy of this book from the author and Bethany House Publishers. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts

I loved this tale of romance and survival in West! This small community on the Wyoming frontier provides a delightful cast of characters reminiscent of Mayberry or Walnut Grove. This story reminds me of the value of Christian community and friendship, and it is my favorite part of this story! Wyoming was the first place to allow women to vote and hold public offices like Justice of the Peace, and it makes a fascinating premise for the series. I also adore the romance in this book! Nell and Brand go through fire together and forge a wonderful bond of love, respect, and sacrifice. A romance forged in the midst of mystery, adventure, and danger always makes for excellent reading— and Mary Connealy does this incredibly well! I highly recommend you read this series in order of release, starting with “Forged in Love.” A mystery launches in book one that continues through the rest of the series. Best of all, the first book introduces you to a cast of characters that you will love revisiting in all of the books! Be sure to grab your own copies of the Wyoming Sunrise series and join this fantastic Western adventure! I can’t wait to see what happens next! I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes. My thoughts are my own. I really did love it!

Finishing a book by Mary Connealy always leaves me feeling satisfied and with a smile on my face. We were introduced to Nell Armstrong in the first book of the series. She's a young widowed seamstress who longs to make a living sewing dresses but has to settle for making chaps for the cowboys who will pay the steep prices she charges. Things change when girl in overalls rushes into her shop to hide, embarassed to be seen in town dressed like that. Her clueless father, Brand Nolte, is trying to do his best for his three daughters after the deaths of his wife and their grandmothers but needs some help. This chance meeting changes their lives. There is still danger in Pine Valley, Wyoming since the Deadeye Gang is still on the loose, shooting up and robbing another stage coach. Nell has investigative skills since her husband had been a lawman so she provides valuable help to the sheriff. Mariah, Clint, Becky, and Nate are all involved in the action of this book as well. The Laws of Attraction seemed to wrap up rather nicely so I'm curious to see what the author has in mind for Becky in the last book of the series. I can't get enough of the humor, romance, faith, and action of Mary Connealy's books. I received a complimentary copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

I’m loving this series of Wyoming Sunrise and book 2 didn’t disappoint as the saga continues with Nell, Mariah, Becky, Clint and the Deadeye Gang in Pine Valley, Wyoming. In this story Nell, a widow, is still making cowboy chaps, which she hates, as she rather make women’s dresses but the chaps do bring in a very nice income. However, Nell catches a break when what she thought was a little boy come running into her shop asking Nell to hide him. It turns out that the boy was really a girl who helps her widower dad, Brand Nolte, work on their ranch and she’s tired of looking like a boy and wants a dress! Poor Brand has no idea to dress the girls properly and fails to realize that they want to wear dresses to town, church and school as the boys clothes were embarrassing to wear off the ranch. He had 3 girls Samantha, who had run into the store to hide, Cassandra, and Michaela which he all had boy’s nicknames that he used for each girl (Sam, Cassie, and Mick). Since it had been a hard year he didn’t have the funds or ability to make dresses and he didn’t want any charity! So Nell worked out a deal with him that the girls would come after school and help her in the shop in exchange for the dresses and then she would also teach them how to sew and make clothes for themselves. So Brand agreed to the arrangement. Meanwhile the Deadeye gang had robbed another stage and where sloppy and left another survivor which was not the norm for the gang. The town set up a rotating squad of townspeople to guard the lone survivor all was well until one of the gang slipped in and killed him anyway and now danger was once again in Pine Valley. Nell’s husband had been a lawman and had used Nell as his sounding board for his cases yet never allowed her to talk to him about it, so Nell offers to help Sheriff Joe with his investigation. The sheriff listens to her and even listens to her advice. This leads the town council to appoint Nell to replace the outgoing Justice of the Peace position. This is a significant step forward as she is now the second woman to serve in this position in all the US. The Mayor Wainwright brother comes over and confronts Brand that Nell might be in a lot of trouble coming Nell’s way soon. Trouble does come but not where it is expected or to Nell. Can Nell, the sheriff and Becky(the single lady rancher with Brutus her tracking dog) help find the killer trying to kill the witness who saw him kill the victim from the stage coach? There are two weddings one of convenience and one of love but you’ll need to read for yourself to find out who gets married and if the gang member gets caught? This story is filled with humor, danger, love, mystery and faith in God! So pick up a copy and enjoy this delightful story! I picked it up and read it in one sitting!! Thank you Bethany Publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. I wasn’t required to leave a review. The review is totally my own opinion and thoughts of the book.

This story is sure to have you laughing out loud at times and biting your nails at other times. There is plenty of action and mystery to keep you trying to figure out how the Deadeye Gang seems to know what is happening in the small town of Pine Valley, WY. Does someone from this murdering group actually live in this lovely place nestled in view of the Wind River Mountains? Nell is the local dress shop owner who seems to specialize in making chaps, much to her chagrin. However, her past has given her a great deal of knowledge regarding the law. Has suffrage reached all the way to Pine Valley, allowing her to take a role other than dressmaking? Scary things happen, a little romance and a great deal of adventure will keep your attention wondering what could possibly come next. An early copy of this second book in the Wyoming Sunrise series was received through Baker House Publishing, Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
