The Cuisenaire rods fractions kit is used for mathematical study, and has 12 trays of 74 rods for strengthening student understanding of fractions, including equivalent fractions, addition and subtraction of fractions, ratios, and the concept of finding "families" for unlike fractions. The kit has self-checking activities for developing students’- computational skills, with a set of overhead rods, and a 64-page book, “-Everything’-s Coming Up Fractions with Cuisenaire Rods,”- for instructional use. The set is made of wood for durability, and is suitable for grades 4 to 6.

excellent product
I recieved a full set of these sticks for christmas as a child in the 60's and was exceptionally good at Maths. My younger sister was 4 yrs younger than me. I used to teach her maths with these in play, by the time she went to school at 5 yrs she could do the 3 times table, adding, simple subtraction and devision. These are a great visual aid to show how numbers work. It makes maths make sense.

Develops a lifelong love of numbers
Brilliant for learning. Bright colours, sturdy wood, different patterns to make, and see the 'matches' with a matching number/rod. Loved these as a child, delighted as a parent. Highly recommend.

playful maths!
I remember my sister playing with these a lot while learning. I am glad to find wooden ones of this, they are good at encouraging adults to play maths with children, as well as anything else you can build with them. Only cons is we could do with more of them and the box is very unpractical.
