Fun to build and to display.
Gave one to my 14 year old grandson a few years ago and he loved it, especially the spinning too. Took a couple of hours to complete. Now giving one to my 12 year old grandson. I’m sure he will enjoy it just as much.

needing better procedures for rainy days
not impressed with how my $80 item in cardboard packaging was packed in a tiny bag, then brought out and left to sit in the rain while the employee fumbled around. If I had the time, I would have returned it, because this Lego set is a gift and now the box is kinda damaged. First world problems, yeah, but when I pay this much for an item, I'd appreciate a little more care with it.

This was a super build, the details are excellent. I liked the colour coding early in the build to help with getting the right steps / right parts connected - I haven’t seen that before in a Lego build and it’s a neat idea. I liked the optionality of seeing R2s arms or removing them, what would have been extra cool is if there was a lightsaber hidden inside his head dome (return of the Jedi / jabbas barge) This is my first Star Wars builds and I really loved the design / build and the final display….. nice job Lego thanks!

Only bold statements here. I am going to take the position that this is the best build for R2. SNOT technique makes the studded dome have a nice curve, because all the extra pieces are manually attached, they can have more proportional length compared to the “adult” larger versions. Great build experience. Because of the size, it is a much more sturdy build. I’m jealous!

Hello R2!
What a fun and beautiful model! It was straightforward to build and it feels sturdy. I like that you can add (and keep them there) or remove the various tools and sensors. It would be cool if they could be tucked away internally like with the pricier model, but at this price point the play model is honestly spot on! Like I found with Chopper, both of these paired with BD-1 on a shelf make for a great decoration, but the size difference between R2/Chopper and BD-1 is noticeable enough. Still, bar the ratio gap, this build is very engaging and is among my favourites so far.

R2’s moveable head is so cool! I think even below 9 years old can build this set with proper guidance. Good for kids & kids at heart, especially for Star Wars fan. I think the only thing I didn’t like was the Lego piece 302026 in step 6, which I felt unneccesary.
