Great Star Wars set for kids
I bought this for my 5 year old son and he loves it. Both the TIE fighter and the X-wing are really awesome. He loves swapping the wings and it's easy to do even for a 5yo.

What a build!
Absolutely fantastic set! This was brought for our Son once he completed his SATs. Much bigger than expected and a fantastic display piece. He thoroughly enjoyed the mash up concept and combining the sets. Our next Star Wars set is already on order!

It's alright
They both look good. I'd never swap the wings, because to me it looks terrible. But I suppose other people might like that. And being able to quickly and easily detach them could be good for making it look like a wing has been shot off without having to disassemble a bunch of pieces. No complaints at all about the TIE Fighter. That looks great and it's well designed. The X-Wing as another matter. It's mostly fine, but the landing gear are terrible. The two back ones just keep falling off. There's not enough support to keep them attached to the X-Wing. The joints themselves are strong enough to support the weight of the whole thing, but that's pointless if the entire "legs" just detach themselves randomly. And there's no place to really put the minifigure's guns. There's room in the X-Wing cockpit for that one, but it just rattles around in there. IMO, there should be a clip piece in there to hold it securely in place since there seems to be room for the clip and the gun attached to it. Just one more of those grey clips holding onto the canopy inside. Pictures included.

Better than I imagined!
These are slightly bigger than I expected and even better quality. I hung them from the ceiling with some hooks and fishing line, which really brought them to life. If I could find anything bad to say, it would be that I wish the instruction manual to build had more accurate colors. The white blocks look grey and the grey blocks look black, then the black and grey blocks look sort of similar. Maybe just better quality paper to print on? Regardless of the instructions, I loved this build and I would recommend.

A fun take on classic ships
I’ve built a ton of the x wing and tie fighter sets. My kiddo is super into Star Wars. So I wasnt expecting to be very excited with this build. However, I was pleasantly surprised! There were some new build design mechanics, part utilizations etc. so while it felt exactly like building an x wing and tie fighter, there was enough difference in design to keep it interesting.

Movable & switchable parts. AWESOME!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product complimentary from Influenster and Lego in exchange for my honest review. I received the Lego Star Wars TIE Fighter & X-wing Mash-up (75393) for my independent and honest review. My 11 year old son loved building this set. He finished building it in about 4 hours, and every moment, he was glued to the project instead of anything else. It was great seeing him so involved. He loved the building process and the final results. He liked how realistic the design and colors looked to the box and what they appear to be in the movie. He likes the ability to switch wings! Switching them up not only made them more realistic to play with, but it makes the set very easy to store if you’re ever traveling. You can just take the wings off thus smaller for storing or putting away. The wings are not loose when on- the whole build feels very secure. He states that the only thing he doesn't like is that the character only fits a certain way in the TIE Fighter cab. He wanted the cabin area to be bigger so the character could stand or move in other positions. All in all, I'd say it’s a wonderful set — it’s great they come together in this package. 100% recommend this set for anyone who's a Lego or Star Wars fanatic!

X wing and TIE Fighter
It’s a decent build with great playability but for me the tie fighter and the x wing is a downgrade from previous versions and I feel disappointed
