LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant Building Set 71426

I’ve built many sets over the years—both adult sets and children’s sets with my daughters—and this is the most disappointed I’ve felt with any of them. The build itself wasn’t particularly enjoyable, and the final result looks rather basic for something marketed as an adult set

I bought this for my son for Christmas, since he mentioned previously he thought it was interesting. He and his girlfriend spent several hours putting it together and really seemed to enjoy the end result. It looked just like the picture on the box and is now a part of his collection of unique Lego sets.

The build experience was very poor, very repetitive (that was expected from the looks of it), the joint that connects the head to the neck of the plant can't stand the head's weight. Moreover, the price per piece on that set is very poor. Overall, fair to poor experience.

Came SO damaged. I don’t even know what happened but the box was busted in and the Lego box came with a huge gash in it.

This is the flimsiest Lego set I’ve ever made and I have made dozens. First one son made it and it came apart after completion. Then older son rebuilt it and again it came apart within the hour. Finally I thought they surely werent following instructions correctly for it to continuously fall apart like this. So I rebuild it from (almost) the beginning. And it fell apart again! Rebuilding it for I think the fifth time now and it is crumbling as I try to out it together. Whoever designed the red part of the piranha plant should be fired. Very flimsy. Can’t be played with after building. First time I’m considering gluing pieces together.

I really wanted to like this build but the piranha plant head is so incredibly flimsy. Twice while assembling the mouth pieces, the halves literally shattered. As others have mentioned, the set is very top heavy which limits playability. Really disappointed with this one.

This set was so fun to build and so easy to build! It’s such a perfect size and love how the Lego can actual tilt

My grandson is a Legohead and a Mario Buddy. When he opened this gift, he was screaming with delight! Piranha Flower!

Great addition to the Super Mario shelf! Quick to build but very delicate - pieces need to be tight to ensure others fit properly and the head kept falling apart while trying to put together. However, once it's done, it looks great and it's fun to play with. Especially dropping the coins in and making the pop out the bottom! A little smaller than I thought but still looks great!

I was very skeptical when my daughter picked this build as a reward for a test, even though I am big Mario fan and even love pety piranha in Mario kart and smash bros, it looked soooooooo simple and even kid like on box. Given the last one we did was the insanely awesome mars perseverance rover, I thought this would be boring. Turns out it was one of most beautifully designed sets under the surface! My 12 yr daughter and I were beyond impressed with the elegant and functional designs and loved seeing a few pieces we haven't come across. I am going to try to find all the sets the design duo have worked on!

For me it constantly leans forward when I move it. Display-wise it's good, smaller than I expected. When I think Piranha plant I think at least 1.5x bigger than this model. It'd be a cute gift for an apartment or something small for a mario lover.

Loved building this! It didn’t take too long but it was fun the whole time. Fits right beside our TV and goes next to our Switch, such a fun theme!

I've recently reached bag 6 in this model set, but unfortunately, the experience has left me with an incomplete and frustrating collection. The design of the head spotty piece, in particular, was laughably flimsy, making it extremely challenging to build and connect. Initially, my son had attempted to construct the set, but when he reached this problematic section, he asked for my assistance. Upon taking a closer look, I quickly realised that this piece was indeed not well-designed. I decided to disassemble the parts my son had already completed, in case there was a missing piece or incorrect construction, but to no avail. After reassembling the parts, I attempted to connect the head spotty piece, but it fell apart. Amused by the situation, I decided to watch a tutorial video to see how others had managed to build this section. To my surprise, the presenter also expressed disappointment with the quality of this particular piece, describing it as "mince" - a rather apt description. Given the poor design of this critical piece, I've decided to keep the set boxed and unbuilt, as it's clear that it's not worth the frustration and stress that comes with trying to assemble it. Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper with this particular model set.

While I absolutely love this plant and the super Mario villains, the plant is incredibly top heavy and if it moves forward it falls, along with the the white lips being too tight on the other pieces, causing them to pop out and having to rebuild the entire top part and trying to find a solution. Otherwise I quite like this silly plant, and like how it looks. Otherwise, make the base static, everything else can move but the base is not needed to be a piggy bank. That and the design of the head is everything that’s wrong, but I genuinely do like how it’s made.

I’ve rebuild this thing 3 times because it has no stability. It constantly falls apart in your hand once you get to the head of the plant. Finally got it together and moved the head to open the mouth and it quite literally fell apart. Worse Lego I have EVER built let alone had.

We had lots of fun with this build. In the end it looks really good and is a great addition. The price point is a tiny bit too much for the brick count (still worth it though). We also find the weight balance is off a bit too, it fell over a couple times. All and all, this was great :)
