Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.
How to measure

Bend slightly to one side. The crease is where your natural waistline is. Measure a comfortable loose, level line around that point.
Inseam
Take a pair of pants that fit well. Now measure along the seam from the crotch to the leg opening.

A: They are pre-shrunk. So they might shrink a little bit if you dry them in a dryer after washing. Recommend buying a size up, if you plan on machine drying the jeans after washing.
I have several older ones and the new dungarees are way too small. Just not the same fit !

I own a pair of these jeans and wanted to get a new pair, same size and model. The new ones are unbelievably tight in the waste compared to the old ones. This is the 4th pair of Levi's i have purchased online that were supposed to the same size and the fit is so off i can't wear them. I will not be buying online anymore.

I've been wearing Levi's 505 Regular Fit Jeans since 1970 after my very first purchase. I've been sold on them since that initial purchase based on the fit, quality and price point. I simply can't fathom the thought of purchasing another brand at this point in time.

Very comfortable and nice looking jeans but the rise is a bit low nowadays. I downsize one size and it gives more of the classic 505 look instead of the baggy diaper look in the pictures but they fit much better in person

Same problem as with other Levi’s — cannot depend on length and width to be consistent between colors and models. Also, it’s the 21st century, time for Levi’s to learn how to make pre-shrunk, non-wrinkle jeans that are consistent in size. I used to have black Levi’s that didn’t turn white with lint after washing, so I know they have the tech, but somehow that’s not available anymore and I had to sit with a lint roller to make this pair look semi decent for work. After a while I just gave up and started a return.
