The LG AXSVA1 26" Wall Sleeve for Through-the-Wall Air Conditioners should be securely fastened within a wall opening before installing the air conditioner. The sleeve helps bear the weight of the air conditioner while keeping it insulated and safe from dust, bugs and other debris that could get sucked into it. Inclement weather, corrosion and other elements cannot match the protective power of this metal sleeve. Optional stamped aluminum rear grille (AXRGALA01) sold separately.

Instructions are almost worthless that come with the sleeve and the instructions that come with the LG A/C units are also worthless. Actual images (pictures) will resolve the issues for the installer. Instructions if using an existing sleeve are also horrible. One Star due to the instructions are not informative probably due to a language translation issue.

It is a sleeve...but that is all

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just installed this sleeve using the woefully inadequate instructions. The standard product includes an aluminum wire mesh grill at the rear of the unit. This grill is total junk. Opt for the expanded metal grill that mounts to the outside rear of the unit. There are no provisions to attach the A/C unit to the sleeve so consequently there is no provision for security. I would choose a different product in the future.
