You can also enjoy all the premium features of Lifetime kayaks on a boat sized just right for kids. A UV-resistant high-density polyethylene body makes this kayak weather and impact resistant and ensures it will last for years of adventure. Take it to and from the water easily using the convenient T-handle at the front or the center carry handle on the deck. Kids can secure their paddles in the molded-in paddle cradle when not using them, helpfully located just in front of the paddling area. Self-bailing scupper holes allow water to pass away from the deck, and multiple footrest positions mean that kids of different sizes can paddle in comfort, or growing kids can use it as they mature. Children can utilize the swim-up deck on the stern to re-enter the kayak if they decide to go for a swim, and hand holds are placed to assist re-entry. Although it’s specifically designed for kayaking adventures with kids in mind, don’t let the label “Youth Kayak” dissuade you if you’re a small adult and weigh less than 130 pounds. I’ve wanted a kayak for a long time but didn’t have a large vehicle or way to transport one. But friends had this awesome Lifetime shark kayak for their child, which fit in their car with the seat folded down to access the trunk. Seeing that, I realized that my primary obstacle for getting a kayak was no longer an issue, and it's quite affordable compared to full sized adult kayaks. Since it is good for up to 130 pounds, I decided it’d be good enough for me AND the kids! I like that it’s easy to carry, came with a paddle, has grab handles on the back to pull yourself out of the water, it fits in my car, and is really stable on the water even for a novice. I’ve only taken it on lakes and a reservoir so far, but we’ll be giving it a go on the river this summer.

Favorite features are the steadiness of the kayak when getting off and on the ease of use and how easy it is to navigate with the paddles. What did you think about the color? The bright red color is a great color as it can be easily spotted if your kayaking with a group and the color along with shark design sets it apart from others.

My son is 12 and he loves the way it looks and how it feels sitting on this sweet ride (his words) haha! He loves the weight and feel of the paddle (very lightweight) and that there is a nook to set the paddle in if you just wanted to relax and float for a while. Unfortunately, the weather has not been cooperating and we weren’t able to take this out for a true test, however rest assured, we will be on the river as soon as it is warm enough! He loves how he has choices to place his feet and that it will grow with him. He also told me that he likes the fact that if he goes swimming, that this shark has a hand hold grip in the center of the floor to help him climb back on. We can’t wait to give this little guy the chance to float down the river

The Lifetime Youth Shark Kayak is Perfect! There is so much to like about it including the centered handle that makes it a breeze for my 8 year old to carry to the water. My son also really loved the grab handles on the back to pull yourself out or the water. also the T-handle on the front helps getting the kayak in and out of the water. If you have kids and want to have fun on the water this is it! Also, the Shark kayak won all the races. My boys say it is because the shark teeth make it faster. You decide.

The bright blue color is really easy to spot in the water and the shark design is super unique. I have seen several youth kayaks, but I have never seen any with hand grip grooves for easy access onto the kayak. I tested this out with my 9 year old daughter, she has absolutely no experience kayaking, it was actually her first time ever using one. I was amazed at how easy she was able to maneuver and coordinate, as well as get on and off without any help. Once she was on the kayak there was no stopping her. The kayak is clearly super well made and very sturdy. Perfectly sized for youth It’s light but has some weight to it, it’s durable and super easy to use. My daughter is obsessed now!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These kayaks are AWESOME! They are very light weight. My 7 year old can carry it on his own. We love bringing these to the lake and having the kids go out. We also got the tandem kayak for my husband and I to go out with our kids. Now the whole family can be out on the water in their own kayaks with very little stress. The kayak has a really cool design in the back with handle grips for the kids to pull themselves up—Although, the kayak was very sturdy and didn’t flip over at all which was nice. Overall, we are very happy with this kayak! The shark on the front is a huge win for my kids.
