Q: Has anyone noticed that the corners of the light brite board do not have lights. Ours barely illuminates the corners and upon inspection there are no LED lights in the top left and bottom right corner.

A: Just bought this for my grandson. So excited to give it to him. I wish I hadn’t wasted my money. Doesn’t really illuminate hardly at all. The one I had as a kid was much better.

A: Hi there, thank you for your inquiry into the latest Lite Brite! Lite Brite, following modern toy & safety tests and regulations, was built using 6 LED lights that are located underneath the face of the tablet. They are strategically positioned to help light up the entire board no matter where the pegs are located. The pegs nearest to the LED lights will tend to shine a bit brighter while the pegs with the farthest length from the lights, will tend to be not as bright but all pegs will glow against these 6 LED Lights. The pegs were even re-built this year with a glossier texture to help shine brighter and be more colorful! Lite Brite has 4 different light displays activated by pushing the button on the back.
If you have any inquiries on this, please email us at www.basicfun.com/support - we are here to help you and create the best Lite Brite experience that you can have. Enjoy creating art with light!

Q: Where are the templates?
submitted by Tia888888888 - 10 years ago
A: There should be 2 included, and the directions lead you to a website ("the bridge direct") where you can download and print more, but it's unclear how you would get them scaled just right.
submitted bycarmen - 9 years ago
A: I cant find them either. Unless they were taped inside the box and we didn't see them, they are now in the trash. Very frustrating

Q: Does the battery latch need screwdriver?
submitted by Gerard - 14 days ago
A: Hi there, yes, the Lite Brite battery door has a screw that connects the door to the toy. So you would need a screwdriver to remove the screw. Honestly - you could pull really hard on the door with something wedging it open if you don't have a screwdriver - but a small Phillips screwdriver is required to remove it. Hope this helps you! Q: Hi
Do these pegs go with the old original lite bright ?
submitted by magdy khalil - 4 years ago
A: Hi there, no these pegs are not compatible with the original Lite Brite. Lite Brite has been manufactured by different companies over the years - every company that produces an item has it's own scale that they use. The pegs and templates compatibility (if they are compatible with several different units) would be only with in that companies portfolio. Basic Fun has been making Lite Brite since 2016 - we have several different template styles NOW (as of recently only - this year) that have pegs that will work in several different units. But none of our pegs will work in a non Basic Fun produced unit. Hope this helps you - but if you have any further questions - please contact us directly on our Basic Fun website (www.basicfun.com). - Your Friends at Basic Fun (Basic Fun licenses Lite Brite from Hasbro)

Please google “Ultimate Classic Lite Brite” to pull it up or email us directly at Customerservice@basicfun.com for this information. The Lite Brite Classic offers a nostalgic experience for both kids and adults, allowing for creative expression through colorful pegs and light-up designs. While many guests appreciate the fun and imaginative play it encourages, some express disappointment with the brightness and durability of the product. The inclusion of templates and the ability to create custom designs are highlights, making it a great screen-free activity for children.

It was a big disappointment. The little plastic colored "lights" were very hard to push in through the templates, especially for our 5 year old granddaughter.. We ended up pre-punching everything, which was okay. But it's the real lights that light up the display that are so disappointing. They are so dim, that it's hardly worth making the pictures. There was clearly room to add more light panels in the back, but they cheaped out. Not worth the money.

Neither Light nor Brite
The top half of the board and 3/4 corners were dead zones. I’d say only 30% of the board was bright and the rest barely glowed or was dark.

Definitely not as nostalgic as my childhood. It’s not very bright. But I got it for my 3 year old and he did say “I like this” so it’ll do.

Fun childhood memories shared
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brings back childhood memories to share with my kids. The batteries allow it to be portable. An usb power slot would be a nice addition for stationary use. Plenty of colored pegs to make the included designs or your own creative one. LED lights are bright and help conserve battery. Both kids 4 & 6 enjoy playing with this.

Fun for all
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a fun creative toy. Both my 5 and 2 year old love it. My 2 year old likes to lay it down to stick the pegs in as the board tends to slide some. When playing this way it turns the light off sometimes. My 5 year old likes to make designs and loves the diffrent light choices. I put the pegs in a bowl to keep them from rolling away. We have only played a handful of times and the rubber facets for the back board are starting to not close all the way. Still better than the old school lite Brite we had as kids.

its a cheap piece of junk
cheap piece of crap. I had one when I was a kid and loved it. our granddaughter lost interest in it 10 minutes in. The pegs have lost their point so you have to push hard to get them in. Only some of the screen is lit up. The activity pages are terrible and it keeps shutting off. Id return it if I had known. Im glad some folks love it. I feel ripped off.

Great toy for 4 and up!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our lite brite!!! We did buy some Christmas pictures to go on it, because that’s what my kids wanted, but it has been so good to my 4 year old, who is very hard on it. The lights are great, i don’t feel like I have to hover over him, it’s super safe and fun for him!

Barely works, save your money.
Bought this for my l.o. for Christmas. They love it, BUT... only about 1/4th of the board lights up. So disappointing. Thought maybe it was just ours, but apparently it's common.

Nostalgia 100%
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try the Lite-Brite it was one of my favorite toys from when I was little. Overall this was great, my kids had fun trying their own designs and popping the paper with the designs provided. The one complaint I have so the stand that holds the Lite-Brite up isn't super sturdy for little hands that might push a little hard. Overall I love it.

Great creative outlet for kids, but not necessaril
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good: Love that it is battery operated. Has 3 light up options that blink or stay on during play, but also has an auto turn off. Kids really loved creating designs and were happy to know they didn’t necessarily need to use the enclosed templates. Not so good: The canvas area is not as large as the original you may remember. The stand is flimsy so it doesn’t stay up when pushing in the pins, making it easier to use the toy while it is flat on the floor instead (see photo). The power button turns off and on when bumped or putting it back into the box. Despite these few design flaws, it keeps our littles entertained.

Nostalgia
Much smaller than it used to be back in the early 2000s - it’s not as bulky. Doesn’t really come with a lot of pegs so you should buy an extra pack other than that device works great my daughter loves it. She is six.

A hit with kiddos, no matter the generation!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love when classics from my childhood are still a hit with my child! As my daughter said, " turns out mom actually had cool toys as a kid!" Great size for travel, can entertain for hours. Have a creative little one at home? This is perfect to have on hand! Great tutorials and instructions. Easy to assemble. Two thumbs up!

Old memories
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so happy that I could share this toy with my son because I used to love it when I was his age. He absolutely loved it. He didn’t understand at the beginning how to use it, but once he did his imagination blossom with it, which brought me so much joy

captures kids' imaginations
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a little girl, I had a Lite-Brite that I loved playing with, and letting my imagination run wild creating a picture with the light-up pegs was incredibly fun. So it feels so gratifying to see my grandson having such a great playtime with his classic Lite-Brite. This is a toy that can never go out of style; it captures kids' imaginations.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Timeless Classic That Never Gets Old!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lite-Brite Classic is just as fun now as it was years ago! It’s the perfect mix of creativity and nostalgia. The bright, colorful pegs light up beautifully, and the templates make it easy for kids (and adults!) to create amazing designs. It keeps little ones entertained for a long time, and it’s a great way to encourage imagination and fine motor skills. The board is sturdy, the lights are vibrant, and the whole set feels well-made. Whether you’re buying it as a gift or reliving your childhood, the Lite-Brite Classic is a win. A perfect, screen-free activity that brings out everyone’s creativity! 🌈✨

Fun but not impressed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The box was very nice. The colors were bright and it was sturdy. The product itself was just okay. It has four different options for the background light. The stand on the back wouldn’t stay up when we were using it so we had to lay it flat. The pieces didn’t stay in the pegs very well. It seemed only certain parts would light up brightly while the others were dim. We still had a lot of fun playing with it but I would not buy this specific one.
