National Geographic Gemstone Dig Kit: Educational Science & Geology Activity for Grades 1-9 with Instruction Guide

Such a fun activity, comes with everything you need. My second grader loved it

I bought for my 70 year old mom and my 5 year old nephew they both loved it!

The rocks are good sized and my child enjoyed finding them. We did get 9 but not sure how closely it matches the stones that were supposed to be in the kit. Worth the money overall. See pictures

My kids liked this dig kit but both kits only came with 9 tiny gemstones. The box showed 10 gemstones and they appear larger than they actually were. One gemstone was so jagged that it cut my finger so be careful.

Sadly we only got 8 stones and two were just fragments. Not worth the money!

As described, finding a gem inside is so exciting

purchased as a birthday gift! they loved digging in and spending time looking for the stones. the guide was helpful to identify the stones and gems.

This was a fun kit and kept everyone entertained for hours!

Purchased as a Christmas gift for grandson.

Half the gems are smaller than pea size, and many aren’t polished. None of them are the quality shown in the pictures

Purchased this for my 10 year old who loves crystals/ geodes. She enjoyed being able to dig them out and clean them up after. Definitely good to do outside as it is messy but totally worth it!

How do you not put the right amount of rocks in your toy? Makes no sense. Very disappointing.

Very nice a gift for my grandsons bday

we were missing one of the 10 specimens, but the company agreed to send the pyrite separately. wish the kit had been complete from the get go to avoid frustration for my daughter, but good customer service from the manufacturer who handles national geographic gemstones! and also, target is great for standing behind us customers in case anything could not be resolved. overall my daughter had fun trying to figure out the best ways to extract the specimens. it did keep her busy without frustrating her. i've seen some gemstone kits where you have to basically laser out something from a hard rock--not even safe. this was way better suited for kids.

Really enjoyed this kit it was interesting and fun the gems are so pretty but I don’t think I got pyrite cause it was not yellow or shiny gold and I only got nine but that doesn’t really matter cause it was amazing

Fun activity for all ages !

This was a fun activity for my 5 year old son! Kept him busy for a while and he would get so excited revealing a new stone each time! The product claims it is messy but it also cleans up easily.
