My first Lorex lost the wifi signal about once a month. In removing it from the bracket to press the reset button, I dropped it & scratched the lens. Since I also owned the Lorex chime, I purchased another Lorex video doorbell. The new one lost the wifi signal after the first week, plus I had to reboot it twice in the past 3 days. It is only about 15 feet from my wifi router. The 2k feature provides a clear, clean video & the unit has good motion detection. These technical problems should have been corrected in the newer version & the reset button should be easier to access.

Our door faces the south so the southern California sun slowly bakes the plastic so the view becomes fogged. Like fogged headlights on many cars. Better materials would prevent this problem. After three years, the view is so fogged we have to replace the unit.

Ordered 2 of these, one after the other, finally gave up. Transformer puts out 18. 4 volts to the door. Mechanical chimes, both doorbell cameras had the same issue. They would turn blue, try to ri g the doorbell and thats it. Tried using usb cord with 2A supply to the doorbells, didnt make it work. About an hour on the phone with a tech who didnt really help. Frustrating call center, a lot of static whenever I call in. Probably a call center in India, good luck.

A bit temperamental to install, and it drove me nuts trying to figure out why no events were available for playback until I figured out there was no SD card. Now it's working fine and SD card on order!

I have had 2 fail. One was out of warranty and the other was still in warranty. Support is horrible. I was on the phone for 3 hours troubleshooting and trying to get a replacement. Do not buy.

Purchased two doorbells, 4k and 2k. Easy to install and setup. Plenty of settings to get notifications that you want. Excellent clarity. Love having microsd cards so you don't have to pay monthly/annual fee. I would buy again if needed.
