Hands Down, Worst Book I've Ever Read my Son
Unless you’re prepared to teach your child about death, breaking & entering, and read something wayyyy too long for a toddler or baby- this book is entirely inappropriate for a young child. It did give us a good laugh reading this the first time but whoever published this thinking it was a good children’s book should rethink their career.

NOPE.
No, just no! Horrible book. I could’ve wrote a better one. Purchased it because I’ve heard it was such a sweet book that makes parents cry. Are parent crying because of how weird this book is or what!? The mom is incredibly CREEPY. Hated this book, started off cute and sweet and just ended up beyond weird. Will be returning.

Starts sweet but turns creepy weird
Starts out cute but quickly turns bizarre and creepy imo I know the internet is divided on this but personally I am returning this. I’ve heard that the author wrote this thinking of his and his wife’s lost children to still birth

Feel like crying every time you read it?
This is the sweetest book if you have a son. I cried reading it in the store so my husband bought it on the spot!

Loved as a child and I gift it now to new parents!
What a tear jerker. There is no love like mother's love and this book shows it beautifully. This book was read to us on a mothers day lunch in kindergarten. To this day, this book is still so powerful and nicely written. I'm 30 now and gift this for baby showers!

Great message
This book has a great message. It is quite repetitive and a little catchy, but overall has a really sentimental meaning.

Cute but weird?
Cute book, but a chore to read over and over again so be prepared. Also mom crawling into grown sons window with ladder is a bit strange.

Hard pass
Don’t like the illustration style and I hate the writing and premise. This book is weird and gross.

Strong NO for kids. Depressing!!
Wow.. this book is so not for toddlers. Depressing! I am shocked at how many people think it's a good idea to read stuff like "Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo!". Good grief!!

Fave children book
Someone gifted this book to me years ago when I had my first son! It became my favorite children's book and for years, I have gifted it to others who are expecting! The story is so special especially if you have boys!

Makes me cry
Great book to cry to. Knowing the background behind this book makes me cry even more when I read it. I’ve only read it to my infant once….don’t know that I’ll be able to read it again.
