Q: Is the timer separate from the candle

A: Hi Sam, thank you for your question! The timer option is built-in to the candle. The switch on the bottom of the candle has 3 positions: ON, OFF, and TIMER. Push the switch to the TIMER option and the candle will light for 5 hours, turn off for 19 hours, and then turn on at the same time the next day.
