A: Hello Dana - We appreciate your interest for this item. The case stays closed due to the magnetic lid, which uses a solid magnet to hold it shut. I hope it helps - Juliette.

Smells awful
OMG, as I opened the case and started to sort letters I barely handle the chemical smell at the end I started to have headache because of the smell. Don't recommend .

Not what I thought
My daughter picked this out for herself for her 4th birthday. The idea is adorable!! I just don’t think the plan was well executed. The case won’t stay latched, there are SO MANY PIECES (but no where awesome to keep them), the dry erase board doesn’t erase all of the way…. I mean I’m all about learning toys- they are my favorite. This one just didn’t work out like I had hoped. You would need a lot of added pieces and a lot of adult help to make it work.

Not worth your time or money!!! Save it for something else
LOVE LOVE LOVE the concept. But the execution of the product is a miss!!!! My daughter has played with it ONE time and I monitored her playing and the marker is already dried out. We didn't even use it that much & I made sure to promptly close the lid. Not to mention the pieces are falling apart already. Don't forget to mention that you have to pop out every single letter, number, and shape. All 200 of them. Wasted my time just to have to return it :/ and disappoint my daughter because she loves it but it's not a solid toy. Like I said, LOVE LOVE LOVE the concept but the production of the toy needs work. It is in a kids hand after all. Needs to be much more durable.

Needs many improvements
The idea is wonderful! But it took forever to pop out all of the letters numbers and strange shapes. There isn't even enough slots to properly arrange and fit everything inside then it doesn't snugly fit there when you shut the lid. Instead they end up falling all over the place inside.

Not the best, but it's fine.
Not a fan of having to take all the pieces out of the precut material, the marker also died within 2 days of having it.

Disappointing product
If you are going to sell a product to help with children learning the alphabet, PLEASE include letters that are appropriate. The lowercase “a” is literally useless as it’s not the correct way. There is no distinction between the lowercase “l” and uppercase “I”. The uppercase “M” and “W” look like bubble letters. The lowercase “t” is curved at the bottom which is NOT how it should be taught. This just seems like they look the iPhone font and made it the alphabet but it’s not a great learning tool. Add that to the fact that you have to punch all the pieces out is a little annoying. Would NOT recommend.

Not ideal
I wish I had read reviews before buying this. I got home and had to peel out all of those little numbers and letters. A lot of extra work and it's not a great setup.

Pass! 👎
Took forever to pop out AND sort all the letters, numbers, and shapes. If this thing gets messed with and they get unorganized. Very annoying

Not an independent play item, tons of prep
Received as a gift, which on the surface appeared perfect item for my toddler. Then found that it's TONS of prep, punching out all the letters as numbers and then sorting into the plastic slots, which took 20-30 minutes. There are so many pieces that they only fit when turned sideways. So when you open for the kid to play, they can't see what is what. You then have to dump it all out for them to see the letters and numbers. It's great that there are more than one of each item but omg that is overwhelming once all dumped out. The plastic slots also don't keep things in place, there is just enough space for items to slowly slide out and mix around when closed and moved around. So there is no organizing for parents to guide the play. Playing with my toddler, I ended up having to dump out, pull pertinent letters, and then try to put all the rest back in the slots and then when left to independent play he dumped it all out anyway. 252 pieces all over the living room. So good amount of letters and numbers but moreso for a planned learning activity prepared by parent, spread out over a big space not contained to the box, and not for a kid to play with on their own.

a little both. The colors and design are fun, includes alot of letters and numbers
I mean, it’s fun to do and my daughter does like it but even though there is an ‘a’ for n her name she is having a hard time writing the ‘a’ how she is learning it in school in comparison to this version of an ‘a’ one of the things I didn’t realize was going to be a problem when I purchased it but now going forward I will be checking the font of the alphabet before I purchase. The magnets are pretty weak but strong small magnets are not the safest for this age anyway.. also the letters don’t fit in the storage that well. Was it worth $20 no it wasn’t and I wouldn’t purchase it again but I am grateful for what to avoid and look for next time.

Not a fan
The magnets aren’t very strong nor is the material sturdy, they come still needing to be punched out of the sheet which took awhile and was difficult to do without bending them. overall don’t love this toy.

Grandma
There are to many pieces to pop out and they don't fit well. There was a clip missing so it doesn't stay closed, and no marker and eraser as indicated on the items included. My grandson got bored very quickly.

Good for education for single kiddo
Good moveable letter set for the price. We use it for learning for my preschooler who is learning to read so she doesn’t have access to it without me nearby so it stays fairly organized. Yes it’s a lot of parts but that’s the point in learning to make words, I’d take out numbers and shapes if you want to focus on letters. I wanted a wood set for a long time but this is working well for us for our purposes. Letter spaces in the container could be bigger but we keep upper and lower case letters together.

Not functional
I was bamboozled by this product. Too many pieces to pop out, not enough learning cards, and simply not a functional learning tool for my 4 year old or my Kindergarten class.

Too many parts
Way too many magnet letters. It took forever to organize only for my toddler to destroy in 5 seconds.
