Q&A(39)

Q: Does each sheet have the ability to be torn in half "again" to make two small square-shaped pieces?

submitted by KLB - 2 years ago
  • A: it does exist but i don't remember which brand has them but they are a pain as they want to tear when you are trying to tear off the long way

submitted bybruce - 1 year ago
  • A: I think Brawny has one that does that

submitted byProud flip phone user - 1 year ago
  • A: Uh. No. Not sure that exists.

submitted byAnn BB - 1 year ago
  • A: No it does not. And while they work fine in quality, the triple rolls are so large they do not work well in my upright dispenser. The roll does not “roll” at all

submitted byKSR - 1 year ago
  • A: Brawny has perforations to tear a sheet into 1/4 of a full size sheet

  • A: Sparkle Tear-a-Square Paper Towels does checkit out!

submitted bySeabeemom - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello KLB - Great question. The Make a size Paper towels feature allows you to tear off exactly the amount you need to minimize waste and get the job done. Hope this helps!!

  • A: As of today, no it doesn’t have that option.

submitted byBlack Print kimono - 5 months ago
  • A: Yes, it's pretty easy to tear in half "again" -- I do this all the time -- but it's not perforated for you to do so. But in terms of going with the grain, it's a pretty clean tear.

submitted bykatie - 2 years ago
  • A: We can’t cut it in half.

Q: Are these similar to viva or bounty?

submitted by JudyInAurora - 5 years ago
  • A: It states "Compare to Bounty" on the front of the package.

submitted byBeeJayNL - 5 years ago
  • A: These seem to work much better than the Bounty "Essentials - Select a Size" paper towels for me.

submitted byWatertown - 5 years ago

  • A: Better than Bounty, firm not fluffy.

submitted byCassandra - 3 years ago
  • A: I actually prefer the up & up paper towels to Bounty. When Bounty was difficult to purchase, I started to buy up & up. It is now the only paper towel brand I use. :)

  • A: Triple. I came looking for this too and was difficult to find - the last image shows the packaging was updated where the old label indicates Triple. Weird they are not saying that anymore it seems very valuable.

Q: In response to a Q&A: How on earth are these NOT recommended for microwave use? Is there some mysterious ingredient in them that makes them unsafe? Health hazard? Craziest thing I've ever heard!

submitted by Jan E - 1 year ago
  • A: I’ve NEVER heard of such a thing. I grew up, and still do, cover things with paper towels in the microwave. I’m still alive 🤷‍♀️

submitted byTina Surface - 4 months ago
  • A: Most plain white paper towels are OK, but avoid ones with dyes. Ones made of post-consumer recycled material may contain tiny bits of metal, also an issue. The leaching chemicals thing is a myth.

    submitted bySteven D - 1 year ago
  • A: The old school style of using paper towels to cover food in the microwave should never be used. This goes for any paper towels! We now know that the chemicals from the towels will leach into the food.

Q: Are these environmentally responsible, aka recycled and chlorine bleach-free, as the biproducts can cause cancer? So disappointed the Ever Spring paper towels are no longer available!

submitted by Sasha - 7 months ago
  • A: Hi Sasha - Thank you for reaching out to Target. Our up&up® paper towels are whitened using Elemental Chlorine Free materials. The industry accepted definition of Elemental Chlorine Free means the pulp bleaching or whitening process does not use elemental chlorine, but it may use chlorine derivatives, such as chlorine dioxide. Hope this helps. - Stanley.
