Q: Why do these sting when I use them. They may not contain alcohol, but it feels like that is what is in them.

  • A: Apparently you aren’t alone! Scroll down and see the June 5th, 2024 response from Target, to the question asking if it’s alcohol-free. They are NOT alcohol-free! In fact, many of the ingredients can cause stinging, such as: Citric Acid, Benzoic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Decyl Glucoside and Fragrance.

    Terrible reaction. Do not use this product.

    I tried these wipes for the first time. Was looking for something gentle to cleanse my face at night before using a lotion. When I used the clothe I noticed a little stinging but mild. Didn’t think much of it. When I got up the next morning my eyes were almost swollen shut and I had dark red eye lids making me look like a raccoon. I hadn’t used on my eyes at all. It was an awful reaction. I had to go to urgent care and get put on steroids. I tried Benadryl and it didn’t help. 2 days into steroids and seeing some improvement but still swollen, dark red and itches terribly. I’ve never had an allergic reaction to anything before. Whatever they put in these is not gentle. Do not use this product.

    Bring back the old formula!

    I used to love the Up and Up Makeup Removal wipes. It felt great on the skin, removed makeup and never left a residue. The newer formula changed over a year ago. The current formula is very wet and leaves a slimy residue on your face. Very disappointed! Target, please bring back the old Up & Up makeup removal wipes!

    Awful - Caused Contact Dermatitis Burns

    I have purchased these wipes for years with no problem. Sometime last year the packaging changed and the formula must have changed with it. These wipes have caused recurring contact dermatitis, flaking, peeling, and burning patches of skin on my face. DO NOT BUY THESE. It’s a shame they are able to reformulate but keep all of the old positive reviews because these are not the same wipes.
