I HAVE TO BE HONEST IF I HADN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE SAVING MR. BANKS FIRST I MOST LIKELY WOULD NOT APPRECIATE MARY POPPINS FOR THE MOVIE IT HAS BECOME. I HAVE NEVER BEEN A FAN OF JUDY ANDREWS OR MUSICALS FOR THAT MATTER. I WATCHED PART OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC ONCE AND FELL ASLEEP. BUT I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED DISNEY FILMS. WHEN I FIRST WATCHED SAVING MR. BANKS I WASN'T SURE WHAT TO EXPECT. I KNEW TOM HANKS WAS IN IT AND THAT IT HAD WON SOME REWARDS BUT I DID NOT KNOW WHAT ALL THE FUSS WAS ABOUT. SO I RENTED IT WATCHED IT AND FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. THE WHOLE BACK STORY TO HOW MARY POPPINS CAME TO BE AND HOW WALT DISNEY ALMOST DIDN'T GET MARY POPPINS MADE BECAUSE OF ALL THE RED TAPE AND COMPLICATIONS WITH THE AUTHOR I FOUND A NEW APPRECIATION FOR MARY POPPINS. FIRST OFF IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT THEN I SUGGEST WATCHING SAVING MR, BANKS FIRST SO YOU LEARN THE WHOLE BACK STORY OF MARY POPPINS AND HOW IT TOOK WALT DISNEY NEARLY 20 YEARS TO GET IT MADE. THIS BLUE RAY DVD SET IS BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED AND FULL OF BEHIND THE SCENE INTERVIEWS AND SPECIAL FEATURES WITH SOME OF THE REMAINING PEOPLE WHO WERE THEIR FOR THE FILMING OF MARY POPPINS IT IS QUITE AN INTERESTING BACK STORY SO CHECK MARY POPPINS OUT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!.
