  • A: Sunscreen should be applied before so you don’t burn. When I first put it in my face I put it on a small area to see if it reacted with my skin if no reaction happens u can.

  • A: This tan is not fake tan, so the product will wash off, but not the tan. This product just helps you tan. The Maui Babe after browning lotion will help your tan last longer, and it will also keep your skin from peeling. Yes you do need sunscreen with this. It is recommended that you put 30 spf sunscreen on before you put on Maui Babe.

  • A: I doesn’t come off in chlorine. Or ocean. It normally comes off with a good dry with a towel or a good scrub in the shower. I love this product because it actually makes you brown!!! And it’s not hard to apply 🩵

  • A: No. I’ve taken a shower after using it and dried with a white towel. It just makes me brown. Just after application brown does wash off of your hands.

soy sauce smell

I smelled this in the store and it smelled like nothing or more pleasant...I ordered it online and it straight up smells like soy sauce. literally compared it with my soy sauce at home. application wise it's easy to blend gives you a nice bronzed look. Waiting for it to do its thing so we'll see if it works, it says do 1 hr in the sun. it's not a staining tan but a tanning lotion. there isn't an ingredients list so I'm assuming the ingredients are just what is in front of the bottle

Can Confirm - It Smells Like Soy Sauce

My sister and I decided to try this during a weekend at the lake. We had pretty low expectations, but since we were splitting it we figured "why not". After reading all the reviews regarding its scent, I was really curious to smell this in person. My family decided that soy sauce was the best comparison as to what it smells like. I'm not sure if it actually helped us tan more than normal - after three uses layering this, letting it dry, and then putting sunscreen on top of it, we experienced our usual amount of tanning (definitely not immediate bronze goddess after one use or anything). We didn't have any sunburn or peeling tho (some reviewers said this was due to the Maui lotion, but since we were using sunscreen its hard to say). We'll keep using the bottle just to finish it, but not sure if I've seen enough of a difference to repurchase.

Horrible smell

If you don't mind smelling like a mix of canned dog food and rotten soy sauce, go buy it. I used it for an hour, it did kind of work but I couldn't stand the smell. People asked me what that terrible smell was, it wasn't fun.
