Maui Jim Pailolo Rectangular Sunglasses

I own several pair of MJ’s and bought these because of the amazing style. Just like everyone else has said they are unwearable because of the lenses. Not sure why. Now I have to pay to repair. It’s not right.

I have also experienced the same scratching/blurry/bad lens quality issues with these glasses. I was shocked when the lenses immediately began to fail after I purchased them. I am a loyal Maui Jims user....first time I have ever had a problem. These glasses are so bad I assumed they were counterfit knock-offs, not real Maui Jims.

Loved the glasses. Fit great and has a great look. After wearing a few times the lenses were scratched very easily. Had my coat as for years with no problems, these glasses made it a couple months.

Love the look and fit of these glasses but the lenses are very bad. I have taken very good care of these but the inside lenses is trashed in just 1 year. I’ve had Oakleys, Ray Bans, and Smiths last years and years before showing any signs of wear. Very disappointed in otherwise a 5 star sunglass

I purchased my first Maui Jims last year at the celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe and I love these glasses, but just like everyone else says, the lenses wear out pretty quick. If Maui Jim can correct the lens problem these would be a five star.

As per other reviews, great frame and look but terrible quality lenses!! My wife purchased the sunglasses as a gift for me in December and they are now unwearable from the deteriorating coating on the lenses. Very disappointing especially at the price point. Also disappointing that I am having to pay a fee up front for repairs. First pair of Maui Jims I’ve owned and will be the last.

Just like many others, absolutely love the style and frame, BUT the lenses have a coating on the inside that clearly wasn’t thought out properly. There’s a smear issue going on where permanent swirls/smears occur simply from cleaning with provided cloth and water. Had mine for 2 months just wearing them commuting and the view got more and more blurry. Likely switching brands entirely. View was EXCELLENT before the lens issue was in full force. Mine have the bronze lens and tortoise frame.

As others have stated, frames are nice, but the Hawaii Lava red coating is not good at all. I have 3 pairs of MJ Sunglasses. Glass neutral gray, plastic hcl bronze, and glass maui blue all 3 plus years old. None have scratches, that are noticeable without looking for them. 2 weeks old and Hawaii Lava has a 1" long scratch from I do know what. I don't recommend this coating.

I’ve had these sunglasses for about 2 years. I love the look, but they’ve become almost useless due to the lenses. It appears that a coating on the lenses has come off making them cloud my and easily scratched. I contacted MJ support and they said that the lenses haven’t been improved, so I don’t see the point in paying to replace the lenses. Really disappointed!

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. The lenses do scratch easily; the second day I received the glasses I noticed a scratch on the top of the right lens. Otherwise, I like the style of the glasses. Disappointed in the scratch(es) though if anymore appear, that is. Maui Jim can do way better.

Frames are great..fit/feel/look. Lens are great.....for about two days. Steadily worse until all but unusable in couple of months. Ridiculously bad for glasses in this price range. Should have read reviews before buying.....there is obviously a serious continuing problem with these. First time with MJ........not sure how I could trust them to try again.

Good looking glasses, just don’t filter out much sunlight.

I love Maui Jim’s and have had no less than 6 pairs, but the lenses on these are awful. They started to get cloudy after a month of having them and now have gotten to the point they are almost unusable. The worst part is there isn’t a single scratch on either of the lenses, it’s almost like some coating or something has deteriorated.

Lenses are super sensitive. Dropped them on the ground in the first 24 hours of having them and they fell in dirt. Still scratched them. At the price point of all your glasses you’d think they could be a little more resistant to scratches.

Great frame and fit but lenses have deteriorated so that they are unusable within 4 months of purchase. I wish I had read the other reviews before purchasing. I have the blue mirror, maybe other lenses are more resilient?

Very pleased with my selection. Light weight and very comfortable to wear.

I agree with all the other reviews, the lenses are horrible. It appears the coating rubs off the lenses. The scratches started immediately and progressively got worse until I couldn’t see out of them in only 4 months. I always wear MJ sunglasses and never experienced this. I did email the warranty department and they responded quickly. I mailed in my sunglasses and they replaced the lenses under warranty. Now I just hope this second set of lenses lasts but I don’t have high hopes.

Great frame fit well. I’ve had several pairs of Maui’s but this pair has the worst lenses by far!! Scratched beyond wear after the first week!! So disappointed

Incredible frames and appearance overall, but these lenses are trash. They are destroyed from cleaning them, and I even rinse them off with hot water before I wipe them. Just barely bumped them into a rubber coated ratchet strap hook and now the outside has a nasty gash in one of the lenses. I’ve had glasses from all the brands, and these are my favorite by far, aside from the lenses. A true shame. Wish glass was offered but at this point I don’t know if I have it in me to pay for genuine replacement lenses at all. I am now very gun shy. I’m not sure how to proceed because my lenses are almost unusable after using them for just over 6 months. At this point I’m afraid to clean them at all but I want to keep wearing them so badly.

Love how they look and fit. Super light weight and very comfortable.
