A: Old Bay Seasoning is currently packaged in a plastic can. We transitioned our Old Bay packaging from metal to plastic cans towards the end of 2017. ~ Erica

Beware… the lid is an absolute joke. Old bay should be ashamed. The lid pops right off and what you’re left with is an entire container of seasoning in whatever you’re trying to add a dash to.

I agree with others. Old Bay is my go-to but I recently dumped half the container on a single can of tuna. The packaging is shockingly bad. The lid won't stay on! I'd recommend purchasing a salt shaker to avoid using this packaging. Or maybe a little duct take to secure the lid might work as well. I rated the value at 1 star becasue I regularly waste the product and good food because of the terrible packaging.

Im new to this spice. Recently read how frozen shrimp, without any defrosting, cook great under broiler in 5-7 minutes. Just need to first seperate shrimps frozen together by running water briefly until their apart. I tossed the frozen shirimp with this spice and worked perfectly. havent had any issue with the container others have complained of.

I have been enjoying Old Bay seasoning all of my life, even as a toddler. It still tastes great on just about anything you can imagine sprinkling it on. But the new plastic can is HORRIBLE! The lid will not stay closed and I have to use a strip of duct tape to keep it closed. That should never happen. Additionally, I dropped the plastic piece of junk from the spice cabinet accidentally and the corner of it cracked. This would not have happened with the metal can! Dented, but not busted. Also, plastic isn't environmentally friendly. I don't understand why companies try to "fix" what isn't broken.
