Q: Since the sheets are considerably larger than my scar, can they be cut down to a smaller length/width?

  • A: Hi, thank you for your question. Our recommendation is to leave at least 1 inch beyond the edge of each side of your scar. Over time, wear and tear may cause the edges of the sheet to lose adhesion so you want to leave enough room to (a) ensure proper adhesion beyond the scar, and (b) be able to slightly trim the worn edges of the sheet off over time throughout the use of the scar sheet.

  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. It is essential that the scar sheets are cleaned daily. The sheets should be removed each day and cleaned. You will rub the sheet with a few drops of a neutral soap. Remove as much dirt as possible with soap and lukewarm water. Rinse the sheet thoroughly under lukewarm water. Then leave the sheet to dry on a clean dry surface, with the sticky side facing up. The sheet can be reapplied once completely dry.

Didn't work for me

Eliminate Scars with Mederma

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to use my Mederma Silicone Sheet on my best surgery scar. I can say it's very flexible and so soft I forgot it was still there. It felt very comfortable under my clothes. I didn't have any type of irritation. Didn't really notice any significant change in the scar but I'll continue to use it and see what happens.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 10+ knee surgeries, scars are something I am very familiar with. As someone with multiple allergies and very sensitive skin, finding a scar reducing product has been a challenge. I was excited when the Mederma silicone scar sheets arrived. The smaller size let's me place it exactly where I need them. There are multiple colors to get a closer match to your skin tone. And after consistent use, the scar is used them on it much less obvious without causing the skin discomfort I've had with similar products in the past. I would highly recommend these to others.

It was easy to use and staid in place. It was come to wear for the amount of time I was able to. But I had to take it off the same day, unfortunately.

Does what it’s says!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The scar sheet is long enough to easily cut into two pieces, or even smaller. I’m sensitive and didn’t get any allergic reaction. I love that it had not scent. It was on my skin all night, it didn’t come off and lasted me through my crazy sleep. I definitely saw a difference in my scar.

Will buy again!

The scar sheet sticks very comfortably to my skin and stays put. It is very flexible and is on a part of my body that bends and stretches, and I’ve had no issues with it being uncomfortable.

You can always cut to size. Its easy to use. It has easy to pull apart slit. It holds in place even after the shower. Flexible material.

Great way to get rid of scars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Crazy to think these are the small size! I got these mederma silicone scar sheets to help with a bad rope burn scar. They are easy to use and less noticeable than regular bandages. Stayed on all day. It has already helped heal and fade scar. I think will also be using these on acne scars.

Patch stayed on well, but that's about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't feel like this made any difference. I followed the instructions, and I also left it on for about 15 hours a day. Used for 4 days, using a new patch each day. I had high hopes for this. Hopefully it works for other people.

Holy WOW This Works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Medea Silicone Scar Sheet in small is perfect for using on new and older scars to help minimize their appearance. I had a spot on my foot that made me dread summer sandal season, but I was able to pop this into place and see progress on fade pretty quick with habitual use for a few weeks. Reusable scar sheets

A bit too complicated for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t initially realize how this product works - I think it’s probably good for softening the scar if you continued for a long time but the process of caring for it, washing it, letting it dry and replacing it is not something I’m really looking to day - I would be more likely to use a one-step lotion. It was initially easy to apply, but I’m not looking to have to remove and care for it everyday.

Seems pretty cool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wish the backing that these come on was a little bit bigger than the actual product so it was easier to get off and to store back on it after it dries I do like that it is reusable and you can also cut it down to fit whatever size that you need and also works on old and new scars. Sticking us depends on two things where you’re having to apply it at one part of it. If it is an area that bends a whole lot more or has curves it will be harder to keep it on. Also, if you’re incredibly active and sweating or working out, it may not stick as well for as long either. As you pull it off to reuse it, though you can trim the edges that might get dirty or doesn’t stick anymore so that you can use a smaller amount of it for longer. I think it does help soften it’s not going to take it completely away so make sure your thoughts of what it may or may not do are rained in, but I would recommend for somebody to try to soften and lessen the scar.

It’s comfortable, lightweight, and doesn’t feel bulky or irritating on the skin. My only complaint is that I wish it were stickier. I found that it didn’t stay securely in place as well as I expected, especially with movement. Overall, I liked the product, but the adhesive could definitely be improved.

Don’t stay on the best if active

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put a mechanical pencil next to the bandage to give a better representation to size. They seem to help soften up the scar a bit. They stare reusable but I’ve always had trouble with this brand staying on. If the scar is in an area (like my arm) to put bandage around, I will to help it stay.
