Q: Since the sheets are considerably larger than my scar, can they be cut down to a smaller length/width?

  • A: Hi, thank you for your question. Our recommendation is to leave at least 1 inch beyond the edge of each side of your scar. Over time, wear and tear may cause the edges of the sheet to lose adhesion so you want to leave enough room to (a) ensure proper adhesion beyond the scar, and (b) be able to slightly trim the worn edges of the sheet off over time throughout the use of the scar sheet.

  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. It is essential that the scar sheets are cleaned daily. The sheets should be removed each day and cleaned. You will rub the sheet with a few drops of a neutral soap. Remove as much dirt as possible with soap and lukewarm water. Rinse the sheet thoroughly under lukewarm water. Then leave the sheet to dry on a clean dry surface, with the sticky side facing up. The sheet can be reapplied once completely dry.

They work. Help fade scars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a thyroidectomy last year and have a noticeable scar on my neck. These scar sheets are the perfect size to cover the scar. Not only does it offer protection against the sun to avoid darkening but it also helps minimize the scar. Sheets are easy to use. Peel and place on skin. Texture is soft which makes scar sheets easy to use. I wish I would have started using these sooner. Mederma is a great brand.

Comfortable and they work

Great sheet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently started using Mederma Medical Grade Silicone Scar Sheets and I’m really impressed so far. They are incredibly easy to use, you just peel off the clear backing and place the sheet directly over your scar. The sheets can be cut to fit smaller areas, which I plan to do next time since my scar is under my belly button from hernia repair. The sheet has stayed in place all day without any lifting or discomfort, which I love. Another great feature is that each sheet is reusable, making it very cost-effective. I will simply wash mine daily with soap and water, let it air dry overnight, and it will be ready to go the next day. I plan to wear mine throughout the day and follow this routine consistently, hoping to see my scar fade and flatten over time. So far, I’m very happy with this product!

Hoping for good results

Easily Help Scars

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mederma Silicone Scar Sheets are an amazing option for someone trying to soften or improve the look of scars. The package comes with 4 medical grade silicone sheets. They are self-adhesive, washable and can be used for up to 21 days. I applied it to my scar from wrist surgery. It went on easily and has stayed in place. I haven’t had any problem with irritation either. When it is time to clean the sheet, it easily washes with just mild soap and water and fully dried. I am so glad to have an easy option to help my scar soften and improve appearance. I look forward to the continued results.

Blessing

Didn’t work!

I don’t think I have a big enough/ fresh enough scar for them to lighten, but the patches were easy to use, fit well, and could be cut into smaller strips to use in small places. They are like a big bandaid so no easy to hide, but can be reused.

Won’t stay on

Doesn't stay on for long

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, I didnt think this made a difference at all. Scar sheets work to protect scars because its the irritation from friction that prevents scars from flattening out in the skin. I didnt think this product produced any results at all. This sheet didnt really want to stick well. It fell off even when applied on clean skin. It stayed on maybe a day and then fell off right away. Maybe it would last if taped on but I didnt really feel the need to put that much effort into maybeee lightening a scar.

Not very adhesive

I bought these to protect a scar I got 4 months ago. Followed the instructions and applied to clean skin, and these just do not stay on. They start to slide off with little movement not long after application. It’s probably better to go with a cream and keep the scar covered than with a patch that has too little or too much adhesion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received this product, I did not have any fresh wounds or bruising or scars so I tried it on a burn that I had from a child. It took the color out a little bit from darker to lighter. I believe that this product would work great for the start of a wound. I like that you’re able to cut them in half or make them the size that you need makes them last longer and I felt they were very easy to remove. They withheld showers very well. I felt like I could wear them for a few days before I needed to replace them. I use this product for about a week and a half, and I noticed that the scarf went from darker to lighter.

Could not review
