Q: Since the sheets are considerably larger than my scar, can they be cut down to a smaller length/width?

  • A: Hi, thank you for your question. Our recommendation is to leave at least 1 inch beyond the edge of each side of your scar. Over time, wear and tear may cause the edges of the sheet to lose adhesion so you want to leave enough room to (a) ensure proper adhesion beyond the scar, and (b) be able to slightly trim the worn edges of the sheet off over time throughout the use of the scar sheet.

  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. It is essential that the scar sheets are cleaned daily. The sheets should be removed each day and cleaned. You will rub the sheet with a few drops of a neutral soap. Remove as much dirt as possible with soap and lukewarm water. Rinse the sheet thoroughly under lukewarm water. Then leave the sheet to dry on a clean dry surface, with the sticky side facing up. The sheet can be reapplied once completely dry.

Reusable scar sheets

These sheets are reusable which makes them such a great value. I have noticed some great improvements in both the appearance of my old and new scars both.

A bit too complicated for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t initially realize how this product works - I think it’s probably good for softening the scar if you continued for a long time but the process of caring for it, washing it, letting it dry and replacing it is not something I’m really looking to day - I would be more likely to use a one-step lotion. It was initially easy to apply, but I’m not looking to have to remove and care for it everyday.

Seems pretty cool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wish the backing that these come on was a little bit bigger than the actual product so it was easier to get off and to store back on it after it dries I do like that it is reusable and you can also cut it down to fit whatever size that you need and also works on old and new scars. Sticking us depends on two things where you’re having to apply it at one part of it. If it is an area that bends a whole lot more or has curves it will be harder to keep it on. Also, if you’re incredibly active and sweating or working out, it may not stick as well for as long either. As you pull it off to reuse it, though you can trim the edges that might get dirty or doesn’t stick anymore so that you can use a smaller amount of it for longer. I think it does help soften it’s not going to take it completely away so make sure your thoughts of what it may or may not do are rained in, but I would recommend for somebody to try to soften and lessen the scar.

It’s comfortable, lightweight, and doesn’t feel bulky or irritating on the skin. My only complaint is that I wish it were stickier. I found that it didn’t stay securely in place as well as I expected, especially with movement. Overall, I liked the product, but the adhesive could definitely be improved.

Don’t stay on the best if active

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put a mechanical pencil next to the bandage to give a better representation to size. They seem to help soften up the scar a bit. They stare reusable but I’ve always had trouble with this brand staying on. If the scar is in an area (like my arm) to put bandage around, I will to help it stay.

You just rinse it and lay it flat and as it dries it will become sticky again. I did see alittle improvement. I had a port scar. I definitely see the purple fading. I didnt have any irritation from it. I normally do from adhesives. These will last you a long time since you can use it for 21 days and there is 4 in a box. I will continue to use these on my scars. The red looking shirt was in the beginning.

May not be sensitive skin safe

It stuck to my skin well overnight and by the next day I noticed that my skin was starting to feel a little irritated. I removed it before it began to feel worse. Therefore, I was not able to see if it would stick for the duration indicated.

Comfortable to wear but didn't give result i was hoping for

For the performance I really didn't see too much of a difference. I kept looking and looking but not really showing any improvement.

Scar Help In A Patch

Magnificent product well worth the investment

They work. Help fade scars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a thyroidectomy last year and have a noticeable scar on my neck. These scar sheets are the perfect size to cover the scar. Not only does it offer protection against the sun to avoid darkening but it also helps minimize the scar. Sheets are easy to use. Peel and place on skin. Texture is soft which makes scar sheets easy to use. I wish I would have started using these sooner. Mederma is a great brand.

Great sheet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently started using Mederma Medical Grade Silicone Scar Sheets and I’m really impressed so far. They are incredibly easy to use, you just peel off the clear backing and place the sheet directly over your scar. The sheets can be cut to fit smaller areas, which I plan to do next time since my scar is under my belly button from hernia repair. The sheet has stayed in place all day without any lifting or discomfort, which I love. Another great feature is that each sheet is reusable, making it very cost-effective. I will simply wash mine daily with soap and water, let it air dry overnight, and it will be ready to go the next day. I plan to wear mine throughout the day and follow this routine consistently, hoping to see my scar fade and flatten over time. So far, I’m very happy with this product!
