Its a simple puzzle that small children would be able to finish by themselves. I love the shapes and names as well as the animals for kids to learn

Definitely watching closely as some of the shapes can fit into mouths , which my child is always interested in putting stuff into his mouth. He loves the farm animals the most .

I have a five year old and a one year old and we all absolutely love these Melissa & Doug puzzles. They feel very sturdy and high quality. The pieces are large and easy for small hands to grab and move. The colors are very vivid and bright. This is such a great educational piece to have for all children to learn shapes, colors, animals. My one year old and my five year old both equally love playing with them. Love!!!!

Keeps the 2 year old really busy as she tries to fit the puzzles in the spaces. Nice colors bright and not cheap looking. These are the best puzzles in the market!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited that Influenster gifted me these Melissa and Doug wooden shapes and farm animal puzzles in exchange for my honest review… right before my daughter’s FIRST BIRTHDAY! She was very interested upon opening these puzzles, however the packaging did state they were for ages 2 and up. While I think being able to complete the puzzles might be too complex for a baby of her age, I do think playing with the pieces alone will provide great entertainment and learning opportunities even with her only being freshly 1. The farm puzzle will be great for learning and practicing the different animal sounds, and the shapes will be a great introduction to teaching her colors. Melissa & Doug are hands down the leaders in making AFFORDABLE, QUALITY, DURABLE, APPEALING, EDUCATIONAL toys for kids of all ages and I know these puzzles will be in my daughter’s toy arsenal for years to come. (And because Melissa & Doug toys always hold up so well, they will be a great treasure to be passed down to another baby when she outgrows them!)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This puzzle is made of good quality wood. Bigger sized pieces allow good hand coordination for my little one. The paint is nice and vivid and will hold up well with play use. My little one likes to compete with me to see who can complete the puzzle the fastest. Pieces can also be stacked together for a tower of sorts according to my little.

The pieces fit nicely in the board for puzzling, While the bottoms of the pieces are sturdy enough to stand up and create barnyard story play. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work in childcare with toddlers and we use these puzzles all the time. As the parent of a 21 month old, I definitely wanted to have a few of these at home as well since they’re so well received by the 1.5-4 year old age group. The puzzles were an instant hit! They’re great for littles to pick up and place on their own to learn spatial skills. My husband or I will usually sit down with our youngest and name each color, shape, or animal as she grabs them. That way we’re working on language skills as well! Also, I did not expect this but my 7 year old enjoyed playing with these puzzles as well. The big thing to watch for with these puzzles is that they are solid wood pieces so try to keep your littles from throwing them 😅

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was made of a sturdy wood and was visually appealing to my child. The pieces were easy to put in place and for some reason the “click” the wood made when the piece went in place grabbed my daughter’s attention and excited her!!! My only complaint was that obviously one piece was not dry when packaged as the board stuck to the piece and the paint transferred when pulling apart. Not terrible looking, just not perfect. If it weren’t for that I would have given five star rating!! I was so excited to finally get to review some Melissa and Doug products with my kiddos. This is an incentivized review and I have given my real and honest opinion of this product.

They are thicker so they are more difficult to break. The shapes are fun but easier to distinguish so little ones can figure out the puzzle themselves and fun shapes for play.
