Sixteen double-sided wooden puzzle pieces feature emotions, facial expressions, and color blocks to match with corresponding scenes that illustrate the emotions, such as surprised, happy, and scared. Flip the pieces to match numbers to the correct number of candles and flowers – a fun way to practice Ms. Rachel’s calming technique, “smell the flowers, blow out the candles.” A mirror card lets kids practice their own expressions, and a bonus learning card includes play ideas and skill tips for caregivers! Self-correcting pieces and color-coded borders make these great first puzzles for littles two and older. Pieces store in a sturdy wooden box for easy cleanup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Both my 6-year-old and 3-year-old absolutely love putting these puzzle pieces together. My oldest even helps my youngest count the numbers, read the words on the blocks, and learn all the different shapes. It’s been a wonderful way for them to play together while also building early skills. I really appreciate how easy these pieces are to wipe clean, and cleanup is a breeze since everything fits neatly back into the sturdy wooden box it came with. This has made it simple to keep all the pieces together and store them without clutter. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this set to friends and family. It’s a fun, engaging, and educational toy that supports both communication and social-emotional skills — plus, it’s very well-made and thoughtfully designed.

It is colorful with vibrant hues on both sides. It is also slick and would be easy to wipe off to clean. Great toy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This puzzle, like everything else Melissa and Doug, is a good quality toy. As a parent, I am grateful for minimal pieces. But this is a really cute concept and I think that it would be beneficial to have emotionally aware educational toys like this moving forward. Kids can point to which face they feel and it’s super helpful in teaching your children how to name an emotion. My two-year-old loves it. I have a six-year-old and this is a little too elementary for him but that’s OK! This toy is geared towards toddlers and I think it’s a great option for helping with those motor skills, as well as emotional awareness skills.

It comes in a really nice sturdy box to store in while not using which is the best part about it. It’s Miss Rachel which my toddler absolutely adores so he loves it even more. It has puzzle pieces that go together and come apart and have numbers, the spelled number, and photos of the correlating number on them. It gives my toddler something to help him count and also put things together.
