Same waist size as a 38

I bought a pair in size 38 and 40. After they arrived, I tried them on and discovered despite what the tags say on the shorts, the waists were the same size! The 40 fits like the 38. Pretty poor quality control. Second time this happened with this brand. Doubtful I'll get them again.

Tan shorts

The low rating is 99% about the color--I bought this primarily for the color. Regardless of the name/term being used, the bottom line is that the pictures of the tan colored shorts are absolutely off by a large margin. What you actually get is a darker color that is much more brown/taupe. If you're looking for 11" inseam shorts, then I'd say the shorts fit as expected. They are definitely a mid-rise fit; if you try to wear it lower, then the crotch sits too low. Front and side cargo pockets have good depth but the two back pockets were smaller than expected. My standard 3.5" x 4.25" bi-fold wallet was a tight fit and buttoning it closed was a fight. The fabric does feel good to the touch (hint of moleskin) and seems it will be durable.

Massive Shrinkage

If these fit you perfectly the first time you wear them, they won’t fit you the same again after washing them. These will shrink to the point of you likely never wearing them again as both waist and length shrink. They are too expensive for one and done wear.
