Solid portage boot.

I love these boots & will likely get another pair once these wear out. I describe them as the offspring of the standard issue US Army summer boot (one of my favorite boots, which I think are Rocky’s as well) & a pair of high top converse shoes. For the most part, I live year-round in the BWCA/Superior National Forest & they are great for traversing portages between lakes/rivers. I have the low cut version (RKC 150) for my dry/camp shoes. Between the two, they’ve been my daily drivers for about a year now & they’ve held up quite well. As others have noted, I too have a spot of excessive wear in the material between the reinforced toe & the webbing on the interior side of one boot (only reason for the loss of a star as this wear became evident last year though it hasn’t progressed too much over time & I’ll find a way to patch it if/when necessary). I used to use hiking sandals, such as Keen’s, though I’ll never go back after using these boots as not getting rocks in my shoes & mosquitos biting my ankles is a joy. They dry quickly, usually almost completely overnight, & they pack well. The stitched sole was a big selling point for me, as my previous hiking shoes & sandals from Keens had their glued together pieces peeling off within a year.

Bought these because I work as a military diver. They are light weight and comfortable enough. I have worn them maybe a half a dozen times- never in the water. They are falling apart. The fabric has pilled and the areas around the eyes are falling apart. In hand they feel veey cheaply made. At least altimas last years vs a week. This was my second pair of rockys that couldnt outlive a dollar store flip flop sandle.

I’ve had these boots for 2 months and are holding up good. the glue that holds the mesh stated to separate in the first month, but not enough to makes a big hole. For living in AZ and having the temperature over 110 my feet stay dry and don’t get hot like I have from other boots. Had to change out the insoles cause the ones that came with it wouldn’t help support my foot problems. I ware them for 8-16 hours a day at work walking around on concrete and with the different insoles I don’t have any foot pain. I cover over 4 miles a day in then so with how there made they go the distance.

Mesh Falling Apart, Same Place On Both Feet

These boots fit me beautifully and I find them very comfortable. Within a couple weeks the mesh material began falling apart and there are holes on the medial side of each boot, between the reinforced toe and the nylon webbing. I love them but I wouldn't dare wear them in the river.
