I bought this product repeatedly thinking they were better quality, but to date I've bought about 8 batteries and it's the same with all of them: very poor quality. The tools themselves are fine, but the batteries are terrible; their lifespan is very shor

Powerful battery
When I bought my metabo hpt track saw it came with a 4.0AH/8.0A battery. I needed another so I decided to get another one so I can have to heavy duty batteries if one dies out. This battery adds an extra punch to my track saw and I think it is the perfect battery to use with your track saw and other heavy duty cordless saws and drills so you can have that extra power and that extra run time. The battery does not make the saw big down at all and runs for a good while before I have to change it. The price on it is also great as well. Glad I got this extra battery in my bag. I highly recommend these batteries by metabo.

Not great longevity
I have been using this platform or around 5 years or so and changed from dewalt 20v. I use the 36volt hammerdrill, impact, most saws, sander, router, and vac. I bought in when they where giving these batteries as a promo after buying kits or tools. I am happy with the quality of the tools with minor issues which all brands have. The 5 or 2.5 amp hour batteries have been great. I have 7 toal 4 old style and 3 new. All working well. The two things I have not been happy with is the 36v 7 1/4 mitre saw which I sold and changed. And the 8 or 4amp hour batteries. These batteries do not last like the smaller version. Out of 5 I started with 2 are still working. The other three have died out over the last 2 years. I hope Metabo will come up with an updated version of this battery that will last because It would be nice to have the run time. But would not spend money on these considering the cost and How quickly they burn out. I do have other batteries this size for a table saw(Red) That seem to much better quality. I hope to see a better version soon and putting this up to help others considering purchasing these.

Charger is fine, like that it works with both 18v and 36v but one battery I have was not used much and is dead, it looks new!

I feel stupid
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel stupid for being excited about a charger but this one is very cool. I primarily use the 36v batteries for most things so they have a longer run time but this fast charger can fully charge one before the one I’m using runs down so there’s no waiting between swaps. I also feel stupid because I didn’t notice the USB charger until I picked up a second one. I charge my headphones, Bluetooth speaker, phone, or mobile battery pack with it nearly every day. When working at house with no power I was able to charge my phone from one of the tool batteries. It is the first thing I plug in when I start a new job.

Multi Volt battery
I purchased these batteries to replace same that seemingly died a premature death. The previously purchased batteries saw light use over a couple of years, within climate controlled conditions, and were never left discharged. I’ve purchased these replacements because I’m heavily invested in the Metabo HTP/ Hitachi system, with a multitude of cordless tools, including a table saw, belt sander, router, grinder, die grinder, 15 gauge trim nailer, 18 gauge trim nailers, 20 gauge stapler, framing nailer, and compressor, among others. As a result, my hope is for these batteries to carry me through to a point where Metabo HPT offers a version that corrects the premature failure problem. I love these tools, but the batteries are problematic. I’m confident in my assessment, as I have other batteries that have seen much greater use, under less ideal conditions, that are over 20 years old, and are still going strong. I’ll also add that I have corded Hitachi tools, purchased in the late eighties that perform flawlessly, and are still used regularly. These batteries are the first time I’ve been disappointed in this brand, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the problem will be corrected.

fast charging, long lasting batteries
Have had the multivolt battery charger and 4.0 Ah battery for a year or so, and they are fantastic. The batteries last a long time, deliver plenty of power, and they recharge quickly enough to keep your productivity high. The battery level indicators work well and are a nice touch by comparison with some of the 18V batteries. Having the USB charge port on the charger is a nice touch as well.

These batteries start to fail after two years
When I bought my 36v tools, drill, impact driver, circular saw and reciprocating saw, plus 4 lights, I took advantage of offers for additional batteries. I have 12 batteries and of the 12 only 3 still take a full charge and 2 have died. The rest only take a half charge. The tools are great but the batteries start going bad too quickly.

Have had two die in me in a year for no reason
I went solely Metabo a couple years ago and own many tools buying 36v tools if I can.. (air compressor, saws, drills , nailers, sawsol, I went all in Metabo.. I think only my nailers are 18v. Unfortunately two of my multi volt batteries won’t charge and just flashing two lights . In Canada it’s hard to warranty them as I don’t have the receipts.. super happy with the tools but worried about these batteries as they are well stored and cared for so should not be dying like this! Send me two batteries Metabo and we are good again!
