Q: Is this the access code or the game card?

submitted by Mz - 5 months ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2. For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the answer depends on which specific retail box you are holding, as Nintendo has released two distinct physical versions for the Switch 2 era. 1. The "Switch 2 Edition" (Game Card) If you bought the official Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (the one with the red-branded box), it contains a physical Game Card. What's on it: This is a high-capacity card that includes both the base game and the "Beyond" 4K/120fps assets directly on the cartridge. Compatibility: This card is "Forward & Backward Compatible." You can plug it into an original Switch to play at standard resolution, or into a Switch 2 to play with the enhanced visuals. No separate download code is needed to "unlock" the game. 2. The Original Switch Version + Digital Upgrade If you are looking at a standard Nintendo Switch box (the classic white/red branding) that mentions a "Switch 2 Upgrade": The Game: This contains a physical Game Card for the base game. The Upgrade: It does not include the 4K assets on the card. Instead, it usually comes with a Digital Access Code (or a prompt for a paid eShop download) to get the Switch 2 "Upgrade Pack." 3. Special Console Bundles (Access Code) If you purchased the Metroid Prime 4 + Switch 2 Console Bundle: The Game: These bundles almost always come with a Digital Download Code printed on a voucher inside the box. There is usually no physical game card included in the hardware bundles. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Do not ever pre-order anything from Target

Target flat out has lied for 3 days about the shipping of this product. It was supposed to arrive on 12/4/25, they keep changing the delivery date, for an item that was a pre-order back in October, and blaming it on their last mile delivery service. I'm so disgusted with the customer service, they will not refund my money, that I'm cancelling my Target credit card and will never shop at Target again. Avoid this company like the plague.

Instant Regret

In 2025 the lack of content and short story for $80 is detestable and commonplace now with Nintendo. The game graphically was very aged and didn't look that great. Finally the majority of content is just opening and scanning objects. Again, for $70-80 and a 15 hour story this is just ludicrous.
