Excellent radio for security guards. This radio never fails to work for our guard application and the range is farther than what’s advertised.

A great radio but slightly scratchy sound quality.

Great radio, small size. No screen and extra fixtures that no one needs them. Good quality, easy to program. I use them for a few years and so far no regrads.

Rather sound & reliable radio to hear each other. Battery life could be longer.

I am surprised how much range these will get. Working on a construction site and it will work inside a concrete building to outside about a mile away.

Excellent quality of radio and transmission and reception are excellent. Two problems- 1. The latch that secures the battery can come unlatched and battery drop out. Almost lost battery while out surveying. It is also stiff and I can for see a time when it will break off. 2. There needs to be a way (and maybe I am missing it not in manual) to lock channel in place, as we have had cases where fumbling in hands or pulling it out of a holder, the channel gets switched. Other than those two issues, excellent radio and well built. Would highly recommend to others for use.

An overall quality radio. I do prefer the visual screens of the GMRS radios over not having a screen, but the quality of the signal is very good, and the units we purchased have held up very well.

Very nice radio. Lightweight and very powerful. Not as loud as I would like for it to be, but overall great. I like the GXT1000 radios better, but these are a close second.

Purchased a set last month. The distance over which we’re able to communicate, clarity, and ease of operation exceeded expectation.

I've been testing this little radio in an urban setting and have been able to communicate at 1 mile clearly between two units on the ground with houses everywhere around me. They are cool little radios. They feel tough and rugged. To get the full functionality you need the programming cable to make adjustments to settings and buttons and of course change frequencies to match other radios. Lots of settings to enable or disable like roger beep, emergency button, scan, squelch, etc. When you change the channel it says the channel name out loud over the speaker. It also tells you (out loud) when the batteries are low. These are business radios but I've taken them on a few hikes with friends. I'm getting way over a mile in the forest clearly. I'm sure you could easily go to 2 miles without hills in between. Longer with zero obstructions. This is a 5 watt radio. Only one suggestion to Midland. Make this radio in a GMRS/FRS version so the outdoor guys can buy a full 5 watt radio for play too! Not just for work. Highly recommended.

Been using it for a little over a month and im satisfied with the 2 radios. Just wish I could get internal help with the Coding.

The MB400 Midland radio is a great upgrade from the BR200. Our inspection company plans on buying a few more. The radio feels like it will stand up two years of abuse! Quit spending too much money on other brands because Midland has you covered!
