The small yellow, green or clear fluid-filled beads you may see in potting mix are not insect eggs. It is the plant food called "Osmocote". These fertilizer prills absorb moisture allow the liquid fertilizer inside to pass out of the prill into the soil. "Osmocote" is sold separately in the garden center, but will not contain the central fluid until mixed with a moist potting media. Most of our Potting Mixes also contain perlite that looks like tiny white puffy balls. Perlite helps improve the drainage of the soil. We want you to be confident in our products.
