Mongoose Limestone 26" Men's Mountain Bike - Blue

Chain kept jumping and skipping gears, seat uncomfortable on long rides, hard to pedal, brakes weren’t tight. I returned mines.

the bike itself was beautiful and for that I rated 3 stars but right out the gate the handle bars were not screwed down but I had a tool to fix it so I dealt with it till I got home! then a few days go by and I think to myself let me work it through the gears and get it in the sweet spot I like it unfortunately the gear shifter would not stay in gear and the chain kept grinding and skipping and jumping and the brakes were never tightened at the store so good think I walked it home to begin with! but I was so disappointed! so I took it back as much as I wanted to keep it and got my money back and as of today getting another very soon somewhere else by October 2024

Instructions included pictures and descriptions that don't match the bike! Very frustrating. They are almost useless for someone like me to finish assembly. The brakes are especially difficult to adjust but I eventually got it right by trial and error not by anytime in the manual.

The rear derailleur completely bent, had it less the one day. Got it from the store to house. Made very poorly

Poor quality, janky build. Gears stop shifting after second ride and front brakes stopped working out of the box.

Did a pick up order for this. Got all the way home (25 min away) only for my husband to take it out of my car and say it was broken! The rear derailer was completely bent and the chain will not stay on!

I was so excited to ride this bike. I went to use it for the first time and couldn’t even pedal. Im not even sure why exactly but it was something with the back tire? I just know it wouldn’t move. What a disappointment and huge waste of my time.

This bike is amazing! I just bought it today and i already rode it about 9 miles. the suspension was a bit stiff at first but it softened out after like 10 minutes of riding. It pedals really smooth and has genuinely nice quality. Also, it has a leather seat and its very comfy, definitely recommend.

Got it home pre-assembled, and upon using it the very first time, I didn't even get a full foot before the chain snapped. Returned it the same day I brought it home.

Won’t pedal forward after lowering the seat. No idea why this is happening, but it pedals forward and then stops. Before we adjusted the seat, it rode normal. Also, the instruction booklet attached to the bike, said that we had to use an Allen wrench to adjust the seat when all we really had to do was, pull a lever and move it around. Strange. Guess I will have to contact mongoose Customer Service and if we can’t remedy, this issue will be returning to target ASAP.

We bought this for my son’s birthday. He’s ridden it a few times, but today the frame bent near the chain while getting it out of the truck. He didn’t even get to ride it. I’m unsure if I’ll either return or exchange it because he’s in love with 😭 He’s only had it for a week.

my kid took it home and it just fell apart sitting in er now... he has mental loading bar forever now.

To start with, the color is gorgeous , it's made for my height (5'6 and over), and it's an amazingly smooth ride! I have plenty of aches and pains, and I was worried a bike ride might make them act up but the suspension bar in the middle made curbs and bumps much smoother than I expected! I can't wait til this summer to go on bike rides through our new neighborhood! I would recommend this bike to people young and old!

However, he goofed up, like a silly specimen, and tried to change the gears without pedaling, you don’t do that, and mangled one of the gears. I must repeat, if you get a mountain bike, do not change the gears without pedaling. In total, I’d recommend this bike, just don’t pull a silly maneuver like my son!

Though it lacks quick release wheels, it’s light weight so that helps when lifting it. The adjustable frame shock really helps cushion the ride. Plenty of gears to chose from and shifting is a breeze. The metallic blue color is gorgeous and stands out really well. The braided cable end cap fell off when I was adjusting the brakes. Lack of disc brakes helps keep the cost down for this model. The seat is narrow and firm. Wide grip on the handle bars allows for great control of the bike. The tires are a good all terrain width and tread depth. I’d recommend the bike for someone who bikes on occasion, is on a budget, or just wants another quality bike for their family lineup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received the Mongoose Limestone bike, I opened the box up right away and took a peak. I immediately was super excited by the GORGEOUS blue color. I pulled the instructions out to put the bike together and it all went together very easily. Upon inspection prior to riding, noticed that one of the rims was SLIGHTLY bent but enough to cause the brakes to not function fully on the one rim due to this issue. Since the brakes still worked enough for a test ride, I rode the bike aroundmy neighborhood. I immediately noticed how awkward my position was on the bike. I adjusted the seat height a few times but could not find a spot that seemed to accommodate my leg length and the height of the handle bars. I constantly felt as though I was leaning downward too much on the handle bars. All in all, I feel as thoughthis bike may work out better for youth rather than an adult due to the fit. Even though the 26" was described as best size for my height of 5'7".

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are in the heart of winter here so I haven’t really been able to take this out on the trails and enjoy it. There’s been so much snow I have only taken this for a spin a few times on some warmer days. Mongoose sent an assembly manual ahead of the bike which was super helpful and nice to read before the arrival of the bike. It was not too difficult to assemble. I am 5’3” and even thought it recommended you be 5’5”-5’10” it was a good fit for me and I didn’t feel it was too big. I am looking forward to the summer when I can enjoy this everyday.
