Description
In-ceiling speakers are the ideal combination of sound quality and styling. The speakers arrived well packaged so undamaged. Installation instructions were pretty good but could have used some pictures. Sufficient cautions to make sure there is a space above the hole to be cut in the ceiling. Nothing worse than finding the ceiling joist or plumbing right in the middle of the hole one has just cut in their ceiling. Installation was straightforward and relatively easy. The Sound: Good! The sound is clear and the balance between lows and highs is good. The eight inch speakers produce a decent low frequency but I would still recommend using a subwoofer for the extended frequency range. The highs a clear without being strident. There is noticeable high frequency variation when listening "off axis". It would be nice if the tweeters were directable but that's my only suggestion. Overall: Very good speakers. I was skeptical about purchasing them without being able to hear them but the construction and sound quality are good. I purchased them for surround speakers but have been using them as main speakers during the break-in period. They seem sufficient in this role (and I like to listen at elevated volumes so I'll give them a more rigorous workout after a few more hours). I like them!

Have not hooked them up as of yet. I am worried about the bottom end sound. I have high expectations. I've looked for reviews other than the web site but have not found any on them.

These are really nice speakers!! Installation is a breeze due to the large flange and flip tabs to secure them to the drywall. The grill looks sleek without a trim ring. And despite the size my wife approves! I ran 12GA 99% copper from amazon basics to feed them.

I put 4 of these in the ceiling that I previously prepared with 2x6 construction to enclose them. They compliment an SVS center and subwoofer. I am delighted with the result. The low profile magnetic covers nearly disappear and make a simple installation even easier.
