Monoprice 5 Pair Affinity Series 24k Gold Speaker Banana Plug

Banana screw type with outer shell works great. If my speaker cable is too thick (10AWG or less), I don't use the provided screws because the shell doesn't fit over the screws. In that case I solder the cable through the 2 screw holes; no screws used. This is not an issue if you use 12AWG or smaller speaker wire. Overall very pleased with this banana connector.

Very easy to install. I followed the recommendation of someone on another forum regarding the two inner screws in the banana plug: The screw further from the banana plug end should be used as a strain relief. When terminating your cable, leave enough shielding so that this screw can hold onto the bit of shielding that goes inside the banana plug. Worked well. The one downside to these is the red/black part of each plug won't stay screwed in. I find myself tightening these all the time. Only reason these are 4 star and not 5. Granted, I'm probably handling my cables more often than the average person would but nevertheless.

Works very well, but nothing on the back of the plug to secure the wire, if that makes sense.

Very good quality for the price. I like the double screws for a solid connection. It was a bit of a challenge to get them on ten gauge wire. It took a few tries to get the screws in deep enough so that the ring would fit back into place to cover the connection but it?s doable. Any smaller gauge wire will be a cinch.

Very high quality I was very impressed with how sleek and simple these are. They were exactly what I was looking for. Each one comes individually bagged for protection. Warning they are a bit stiff when plugging them in which is perfect. I redid my whole system with them and I couldn?t be happier. WELL WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY!

Easy to mate with bare wire, and the two screws make for a confident connection.

I like that fact they are copper with gold plating. They're easy to use, securely keep wire in place and good sound quality. I cannot speak to durability or anything longevity related as I've been using them less than two months.

Plugs fit very snugly into speaker outputs on the A/V receiver, no worries about them accidentally getting unplugged. Requires a very small flat-blade screwdriver to connect to the speaker cables, but clamps down firmly on the cables.

These banana plugs are great in most respects. However, like their predecessor, the collar 'unscrews' itself easily and the collar can short out the terminals to which they are connected. Loctite or other thread-locker is required to inhibit such action.

Very easy to install and quality appears on par with much more expensive plugs. They have a solid connection to both the receiver and speakers

Better quality, more secure connection and easier to use than Monoprice’s standard Banana plugs. They fit more tightly into the speaker terminals as well.

The double set screws is the best way to attach to the wire. Just don't back the screw out too far - it can be removed and they are tiny. Converted ALL my existing banana plugs to these. I'm quite happy

They work well, one of the plugs I recurved had a poorly tapped screw which kept falling in. The other 7 were good.

These banana plugs are amazing quality. They are simple to use and make life easy.

The Affinity connectors are your best choice for DIY speaker wires. If you want easy professional results this is it.

Parts work as expected however some of them were missing one of the set screws that hold the wires in.

I like the double screw design much better than the one where you fold the strands over the barrel. The fit is much better and it’s easier on your hands. I did have one threads on the red barrel stripped, making it hard to push into the receptacle. But I worked around it. The banana end is nice and wide, so it can be hard to push into even the MP wall plates, but it makes for a very solid connection. I bought them on sale, so it was a great deal and installed them on both ends of my 7.2.4 setup. So 22 pairs in total. If the lengths fit, watch for the sale on the premade cable with these ends, it ends up being not a lot more than buying quality cable and ends and doing the build yourself.

Nice quality plugs capable of taking 10 gauge speaker wire. Good price. I have bought these twice and would again.
