Description
This carbon fiber in-ceiling speaker is the perfect combination of performance and style. The use of carbon fiber for the woofer means that the speaker can hit harder, go lower, and handle more power with significantly less distortion than conventional drivers. The silk dome tweeter produces clean, crisp, and clear highs and mids. You can fine tune the blend of sound using the built-in high frequency attenuator in case the sound is too bright. The metal grille can be painted to match your ceiling and attaches easily using magnets.

I bought these speakers 6 years ago during a phase of doing all the things I ?couldn?t? when my ex was around. Back then I had them hooked up to the Monoprice tube integrated (predecessor to PID:16153) in my office and they did adequate duty as something I could play around with. Nothing offensive about the sound but also nothing to write a review about either. For many reasons I?ve since changed the setup several times, ultimately leaving them hooked up to the Monoprice 100W (PID:18513) for years. Back then I did notice a change in the timbre, but I chalked it up to the amp change. All of that has changed recently, after purchasing a new integrated amp these speakers have truly reinvigorated my listening. Yes, this could be also a review for the amp, but it also shows just how neutral and dynamic these can be. They can play LOUD and still be articulate when I?m rocking out and closing the week on a Friday afternoon and they are the perfect conferencing speaker for those long conference calls when you get tired of your monitors? speakers. Mid-range is fantastic and brings a warmth that I didn?t hear in any of my sources before. There is decent low extension by themselves, but a sub helps them play in the frequencies they like best. Pair them with the best amp your budget can sustain, and they will reward you in kind. If I could give them 10 if I would.

I used these primarily for Atmos in Ceilings and they work great. Easily fill the sound stage effortlessly and also have tweeters that can be angled. So far no complaints and the price was perfect!

I have a 12 year old Hsu ventriloquist system. I have always been impressed with the front stage but sides and rear were weak with the small satellites. My old receiver bit the dust 3 months ago and I replaced it with a Yamaha 7850. This gave me the ability to build a 7.1.2 Atmos system. I chose the monoprice 6.5" ceiling speakers for the job. Cannot tell you how loud they are because they are used to blend into the entire system and they blend well without overpowering or distorting movies or music. The Atmos effect on my small basement theater sounds great and music sounds better than ever.
